McCoy Has Dealt with Injury During Bills Tenure
McCoy is the star of the Bills' run-oriented offense. The Pitt product has shown no signs of slowing down despite nearing the age of 30, showcasing the same burst and shifty running he did during his years with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The exception is when he has dealt with injuries. He missed four games during the 2015 season, his first in Buffalo, while dealing with a variety of minor ailments. More recently, he suffered a hamstring issue during practice before the Bills' Week 7 clash with the Miami Dolphins.
If the latest setback causes him to be limited, the coaching staff will likely use a heavy rotation in the backfield to fill the void. Mike Gillislee is also injured, so Jonathan Williams and Reggie Bush would be involved.
Ultimately, while none of those reserve backs can match McCoy's all-around ability, they are talented enough to help the team avoid a major drop-off in the aggregate, at least for a short period. A long-term absence for the starter would be a massive blow to the team's offense.
