Arsenal Transfer News: Kostas Mitroglou Talks Reported, Latest Gunners Rumours
Arsenal are reportedly in talks to sign Fulham striker Kostas Mitroglou when his loan spell with Benfica comes to a close at the end of this season. However, the Gunners have been warned off Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia.
According to Portuguese newspaper Record, the Gunners have already held negotiations with the Cottagers to complete a £5.5 million move for Mitroglou this summer (h/t Metro's Tom Olver).

The Greek international endured an uneventful six months at Craven Cottage after joining Fulham in January 2014, returning to former club Olympiakos on loan the following summer before moving to Benfica on temporary terms.
Mitroglou has picked his form back up in the Primeira Liga with 22 goals in 40 appearances for Benfica, and Metro's Portuguese football expert Jan Hagen illustrated his recent form as being among the hottest in Europe:
Arsenal were happy to welcome a fit-again Danny Welbeck back into their ranks in February, but manager Arsene Wenger may yet seek forward alternatives, not eager to pin much hope on the Englishman as his leading frontman.
France striker Olivier Giroud has also shown his best form for periods of the 2015-16 campaign and has 12 goals in 21 Premier League starts, but Mitroglou would offer another dimension to the attack.
Alexis Sanchez or Theo Walcott may be looked upon as the closest thing Arsenal have in terms of a poacher presence, but both players are better-suited to the wings, where Wenger prefers them.
Mitroglou even earned the praise of World Cup winner and three-time UEFA Team of the Year entrant Manuel Neuer, when the Bayern Munich stopper praised the striker prior to their Champions League quarter-final clash:
That being said, one could forgive Arsenal fans feeling skeptical about the acquisition of a player who has already struggled to fit in the Premier League, despite his successes at Benfica and Olympiakos.
While Mitroglou would be a very affordable signing, Lazio general Biglia may fall toward the other end of the spectrum after it was revealed the Serie A club are seeking £25 million for their anchor.

That's according to Italian newspaper Il Messagero, which reported Lazio want to extend Biglia's deal but will sell if they can't reach an agreement, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool interested, per the Sun (h/t James Gray of the Daily Express).
Arsenal already brought defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny into the fold this January following injuries to Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla, but it's suggested more elite cover is wanted.
