Westbrook was assessed a technical for arguing a personal foul on Luis Scola with five minutes and 56 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. The tech would have been Westbrook's 16th of the 2014-15 season, which, by rule, would have led to a one-game suspension.
"I ain't got no view on it," Westbrook said after the game, per Royce Young of ESPN.com. "He called it, and we'll move on from it."
Zach Harper of CBS Sports shared how often the league has rescinded technical fouls this season:
Oklahoma City is currently tied with the New Orleans Pelicans for the Western Conference's No. 8 seed, and a Westbrook suspension could have been a death knell to a team already without Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka. The All-Star point guard has averaged 31.0 points, 9.9 assists and 8.5 rebounds since the beginning of February, including a career-high 54 points on 43 shot attempts against Indiana.
"I don't really give a damn what nobody thinks, to tell you the truth, man," Westbrook said, per Young. "I really don't care. Every night I go out and compete harder than anybody else in this league, and I'm proud of coming out and my teammates don't have problem with it. I'm good with that."
The Thunder play the Portland Trail Blazers at home Monday night before closing the regular season Wednesday in Minnesota. The NBA resets the technical counter during the postseason.
