So with the season right around the corner and the first preseason game just over 24 hours away, I sat down and scribbled some aspects of the game that I'm most looking forward to, some of the players that I will be keeping an eye on tomorrow night.

First let's start with the obvious, Mark Sanchez. The golden boy on Broadway (Although let's be honest it's a Jersey team) will take his first snaps in a NFL game tomorrow night. Although we won't see much we will see something. As much as I want to see him complete some passes, I also want to see him in the huddle, how he handles himself, how he works the clock, how he communicates.

However because of some offensive line issues, with Mangold/Woody and Faneca all missing the game, Ryan has suggested that we might not see as much of Clemens and Sanchez as we might of done. I don't blame him, the last thing we need is Eric Ainge coming into the picture as the season draws near. Based on reports from preseason, he has made very little progress since last season, and still throws a ugly ball.

One of the main issues outside of Brett Favre that hindered the Jets last season was the over working of Kris Jenkins. He won't play tomorrow, but we all know what he can do. One thing that I will be looking at is how Pouha and Green handle the NT position. This season we are going to have to do a better job of getting Jenkins a breather, so although games two and three will be better indicators, it will still be interesting tomorrow to see them in action.

A whole new defense will be on show, Bart Scott, Jim Leonhard, Litto Shepphard, Marques Douglas, Donald Strickland and the man in the headlights Vernon Gholston. It will be good to see how they look, interesting to see Rex Ryan's imaginative schemes. How will having Leonhard in the secondary help Rhodes, what role will he play. There a lot of questions and although it's only pre-season and the starters will play one to two series, It will be the start of the quest for answers.

UDFA, there are a couple of players that I'm looking forward to seeing, Jamaal Westerman already has a fan in Rex Ryan, he can't stop talking about him, so now we get to see him and his potential. He has been lining up at outside linebacker, inside lackbacker, defensive end, although most project him to be a outside linebacker in the NFL, it will be interesting to see how the Rutgers prospect plays.

Emanuel Cook, the former freshman all SEC player, does he have the desire to be effective? He has the talent, but his work rate has been questioned, he has been pretty quiet this offseason, and in some respect, that is probably a good thing. However he hits hard and he has potential, reason enough to watch past the first quarter.

How about Dwight Lowery, the man who started as a cornerback his freshman year last year, he will likely get the start at the second CB position with Revis not starting and Sheppherd moving into the number one slot. Will he show improvement on last season, he started off well but was soon replaced by the ageless, or perhaps not so ageless on last year's performance Ty Law.

Wide receivers, a lot of people say we have none, that's simply not true, we don't have many proven ones. Cotchery is a good WR, and Keller has the potential to be one of the best receiving TE's in the game. Stuckey, Brad Smith, Wallace Wright, David Clowney, Marcus Henry, Britt Davis and a personal choice for dark horse this season Aundrae Allison will all be out to prove the critics wrong.

All of those guys should get some time tomorrow, and I can't wait to see all of them in action. Not to mention other guys like Shonn Grenne, Jehuu Caulcrick and Danny Woodhead. With so many young players, looking to make a name for themselves, this year more than any in recent memory has given fans reason to watch the complete game.

Football is back and it all kicks off tomorrow night for Jets fans.
