The Buffalo Bills have a huge game on tap in Week 6 against the New England Patriots for sole possession of first place in the AFC East. It remains to be seen if running back Fred Jackson will be able to suit up, however.
According to the team's official Twitter account, the former Coe College standout missed Friday's practice due to an illness:
ESPN's Mike Rodak had more detail:
In addition to that, he is listed as questionable after injuring his ankle in last week's win over the Detroit Lions. Despite that, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has been told that Jackson should be able to face the Pats:
Although Buffalo does have another capable back in the form of C.J. Spiller, Jackson has been the more effective runner with 201 yards and a yards-per-carry average of 4.8.
Provided Jackson is healthy enough to play, New England should expect to see a heavy dose of the 33-year-old anomaly.
