How sweet is the sound of football? In this long off season, we football fans linger on the smallest of updates regarding out favorite team. So here is my officially unofficial season preview to help get you through this football drought.

Week 1 - Raiders

The Raiders have a very mean rushing attack. (Fargas, Bush, McFadden) With several new additions to San Diego's line backing core, this could be a very interesting game. It will be a battle more or less, but in the end, I see the Chargers' skill players to come out on top. Win

Week 2 - Ravens

This game is up to the Chargers' offense. If they can control the tempo of the ground game, they should be able to fend off the very aggressive Ravens defense. Assuming that our defense is fully recovered from injuries, we should be able to cage their offense. This game could go either way. Win

Week 3 - Dolphins

I'm not fully convinced that Miami can function as a team without relying on the "Wildcat." The Wildcat was just a fad; teams, especially in the AFC East, will key in on this formation. Don't get me wrong, this is a very good team, but I think San Diego plays at more of a stagato pace. This one will be decided by the third quarter. Win

Week 4 - Steelers

San Diego is a finesse team; we play good against other finesse teams like the Colts. The Steelers on the other hand, is a power football team. Those are the teams we struggle against. If we can stop the run, we have a chance. I would like to beat this team more than anybody, but I think it's too early in the season to take down a juggernaut like this. Loss

Week 5 - BYE

Week 6 - Broncos

No more yelling matches with Cutler? This game will be no fun. The Broncos won't be near as competitive as last year. I can see them getting rid of their coach after last year's collapse, but Cutler? He was this team. Denver will be rebuilding for a while. They won't get it done this year. Win

Week 7 - Chiefs

The Chiefs: This years Atlanta Falcons. Even without the departure of their amazing tight end, Cassel will do wonders for this team. Bowe will be an extremely pestering wide out and will make a mess of the opposing team's defense. Cro's smack talk about Bowe and the Chiefs has made this a "must see" for fans. This one will come down to defense. Win

Week 8 - Raiders

This will be the mid-way point of the season; the Raiders will be progressing like a team. They will  have a few wins by this point, but I think that by this point in the season, the Chargers' offense will overwhelm the Raiders' defense. Win

Week 9 - Giants

Another power team, another battle. I think this will be one of the more even games on the schedule. Though New York has questions at WR, their offense will be very potent. I don't see the Giants' defense to be as dominant as it has been in the past. To me, this game is a toss-up, but not every game can go in our favor. Loss

Week 10 - Eagles

I see the Eagles as a finesse team, a team that uses more of speed and strategy than power. This is the game I'm looking forward to the most. Mostly because we are both projected to be Super Bowl candidates. This is a game I'm leaving up to you guys.

Week 11 - Broncos

By this time, Moreno has found his mojo. He will be the deciding factor for Denver, but like earlier in the season, Denver doesn't have the leadership at QB to win a tough game like this. Win

Week 12 - Chiefs

This one will be a battle. Cassel will be fully adjusted to this offense be then, and he should carry them on his shoulders. On the other hand, he could just be another Derek Anderson. Considering that he plays up to his potential, the Chiefs will hand us our first AFC West-loss of the year. Loss

Week 13 - Browns

I'm not sure about this team; they could have potential like in 2007, or they could stink it up like 2008. Because it's hard to tell this early, I'm just going with the more obvious pick. Win

Week 14 - Cowboys

If you're a Cowboys fan, just skip this part. Dallas is an orginization that's falling apart. Although T.O. sturred things up, he was the face of the franchise. Dallas is just stripping itself of rightous talent, but who am I to tell the future? Maybe Williams will step up. Maybe their RBs will finally see the light and run for 1,500+ yards. Time will tell. Win

Week 15 - Bengals

I'm a firm believer that Cincinnati will make a full-blast comeback. This will be a key game if the Bengals want a Wild Card game. They will give it everything they have. Our December winning streak can't last forever. Loss

Week 16 - Titans

Kerry Collins* won't make an impact early on. I see Young starting by this time in the season. Johnson will do what he does, and our defense will do what we do. This will be a pretty good Christmas present to football fans. Win

Week 17 - Redskins

I think that the Redskins will boast the best defense in the NFC. With the additions of Haynesworth and Orakpo, they will be able to shut down the run nicely. Norv runs a "run first" offense. This will be a bitter way to end the regular season. Loss

You stay classy San Diego.
