Questions For Wes Welker, The Little Reciever That Could
No, Wes Welker isn't the star of the New England Patriots. In fact, he's probably not even the second or third-biggest (no pun intended) star on the team, but his grittiness, and willingness to surrender his albeit smaller frame to vicious licks from defensive backs, make him an one of the more polarizing players on the team.
Plus he has the, everyone-told-him-he-was-too-small-but-he-told-them-to-get-bent-and-now-he's-an-NFL-stud story to go along with it. That said, here are a few questions I'd like to ask Welker (or Welkah, as they say in Boston), if the Patriots PR staff would give me, oh 30 or so minutes with him.

However, there have been a few incidents where you’ve been laid out, particularly last year when Steelers safety Ryan Clark pancaked you. What does it feel like to hold the two highest single-season reception totals in Patriots history?
We've seen you celebrate with the controversial snow-angel last year, but if the NFL didn't have a strict rule against touchdown celebrations, what would be your favorite one?
You’re also the first NFL player in the Super Bowl Era to record a punt return, a kickoff return, a field goal, an extra point, and a kickoff in the same game, against the Pats no less. Now the returns I understand, but where did you learn to kick like that?
In high school you were known to vomit every other week during games. Some said it was because you pushed yourself so hard. Please explain how you mentally allow yourself to do that to your body?
What made you decide to play football when you were a kid?
Who were some of your football idols growing up?
What’s Bill Belichick really like?
No, seriously, is he a robot?
Some have said you are a prankster behind closed doors. What are the best pranks you've pulled on rookies, teammates, or coaches? Who is your biggest target?
Let’s go over some of your nicknames: “The Slot Machine,” “The Natural.” Brady once said you were like a Labrador Retriever. How did you get those?
Speaking of dogs, you have a chocolate lab named Steve Nash. Why does an Oklahoma born-and-bred guy name his dog after a Canadian-born Phoenix Suns point guard?
Who is the one defensive back in the NFL that you love to line up against?
Can you describe what it is like to have an 18-0 record going into Super Bowl XLII against the Giants, and lose?
Finally what are your expectations for this season? Do you take anything for granted after that Super Bowl?
