Pierre Garcon: Why Fantasy Owners Must Remain Patient With Injured WR
Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE

Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon hasn't played in a game since Week 1, but fantasy football owners would be smart to keep him on their rosters going forward.

According to ESPN 980's Chris Russell:

At least he's practicing, but according to Rich Campbell of The Washington Times, Garcon is unsure if he'll be able to play this weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, saying:

There's a lot of progress going along with the injury, and it's coming along very well. It's very frustrating, but it;s part of football. You have to deal with problems as they come. I'm trying to heal up as fast as I can to get back out there and help the team.

Fantasy football is a marathon, not a sprint—much like the real deal.

Garcon proved the past few years in Indianapolis that he's a consistent performer. Last year, with Kerry Collins, Curtis Painter and Dan Orlovsky behind center for the Indianapolis Colts, Garcon had his best season as a pro, catching 70 passes for 947 yards and six touchdowns.

Given the way he started out the 2012 season with his hair on fire for the Redskins with Robert Griffin III at the helm, Garcon's best days are still ahead of him.

He's going to have a huge season with the Redskins when he returns from his foot injury, and if you're patient with him until that time, you'll be thankful he's on your fantasy team for the playoff push.
