Utah Jazz: 5 Players the Jazz Could Pick Up in the Draft

As the NBA Draft draws nearer and nearer, it is only natural to guess who the Utah Jazz may pick up.

Besides, what else is there to do?

The Jazz will most likely not receive picks in the first round, so here are five players that will probably be drafted after the first round and play the type of basketball that could benefit Utah.

Mike Scott, PF, Virginia

Mike Scott was a phenomenal player for the Virginia Cavaliers, and was in the running for the ACC Player of the Year award. As a senior, Scott averaged 18.1 points and 8.4 boards per game.

A forward, Mike Scott could fill the void if the Jazz end up trading Paul Millsap. Standing at 6'8", Scott is also a good defensive player with an ability to block opponents' shots.

Henry Sims, C, Georgetown

Henry Sims helped lead Georgetown to the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament, losing to a good NC State squad. Although he only averaged 11.7 points per game, Sims is a good rebounder with 6.2 boards per contest. He can also get teammates involved, with more than three dimes per game.

If the Jazz trade Al Jefferson this offseason, Henry Sims may be the best choice available to replace him. Although he isn't a great scorer, his 6'10" frame helps him average more than one block per contest.

Maalik Wayns, PG, Villanova

A 6'2" guard, Maalik Wayns led Villanova in points and assists per game, with 17.6 points and 4.6 dimes. Wayns has an exceptional ability to drive to the basket and get fouled, along with a good jump shot.

Wayns has often been compared to Kyle Lowry due to his strengths. He could back up Devin Harris this season and perhaps move up to a starting role later on.

Quincy Acy, PF, Baylor

Quincy Acy is another candidate to fill Millsap's shoes if traded.

Acy is a power forward that can do damage on both the offensive and defensive ends. He averaged 11.8 points per game, plus 7.2 boards. He is a threat to shooters, as he averaged 1.9 blocks per game last season.

Acy was a driving force in carrying Baylor to the Elite Eight, and helped the Bears to a 30-8 season. If he lands in Salt Lake City, the trio of Acy, Gordon Hayward and Al Jefferson could be dangerous.

Will Barton, SG/SF, Memphis

Will Barton is a 6'6", 175 pound guard/forward who has a profound scoring ability. Averaging 18.1 points and 8.1 rebounds a game, he is dangerous at either position. Despite scoring in double digits nearly every game of the season, Barton only averaged two turnovers per contest.

Barton could be a solid backup to Gordon Hayward, or maybe even a starter at the shooting guard position. The Jazz could have a solid backcourt if they have the duo of Barton and Devin Harris.
