Indianapolis Colts Mock Draft: Buying and Selling Matt Miller's Picks
Matt Miller has been crushing the draft preparation for the last few months, and by now his fingers are cramped, his eyes are glazed over, and he's desperately ready for break.
Before he gets to take a nap for the first time in 2012, he graces us with his final seven-round mock draft. Rather than be appreciative his exhaustive research and masterful execution, I'm going to pick it apart and look for flaws.
Up first is the Indianapolis Colts. Do we buy or sell or Matt's picks?

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Round 1
Matt's Pick: Andrew Luck QB, Stanford
Nate's Vote: BUY
Listen, this is too easy. Luck will be the pick and should be the pick. Let's move along.
Round 2
Matt's Pick: Peter Konz C, Wisconsin
Nate's Vote: SELL
Nate's Choice: Jerel Worthy, MSU
This would be a devastatingly bad selection for the Colts. Konz is a fine player, but center is not a premium position and investing in one this early in the draft would be a waste. Konz would have to evolve into a multi-time Pro Bowler to make this pay off. Miller already had Fleener off the board, as were most of the dominant pass catchers, so I can't see the Colts passing on Worthy. They can't run Chuck Pagano's defense without a beast in the middle and Worthy fits the bill.
Round 3
Matt's Pick: Janoris Jenkins CB, North Alabama
Nate's Vote: BUY
Jenkins is a "character risk" because of his love for pot and sex, but unless there's some kind of reefer orgy taking place at 1 p.m. on Sundays, the Colts can't possibly pass up a talent like this in the third round.
Round 4
Matt's Pick: Brandon Mosley OT, Auburn
Nate's Vote: SELL
Nate's Pick: Alameda Ta'amu DT, Washington
The Colts drafted two tackles last year and traded for Winston Justice. If they take another tackle/guard, they are just wasting picks. The offensive line is not a priority position and with so many needs on defense and at skill positions, this makes no sense.
Round 5
Matt's Pick: Kyle Wilber OLB, Wake Forest
Nate's Vote: BUY
This would be a great value slot for Wilbur. I don't expect Dwight Freeney to be on the roster and Jerry Hughes might not be either, so Indy needs pass-rushers.
Matt's Pick: Asa Jackson CB, Cal Poly
Nate's Vote: BUY
The Colts secondary is terrible and needs bodies. I'm not going to argue with another corner, though at this point, the draft Miller has laid out for Indy is disturbingly short on offensive weapons. I wouldn't mind seeing Lance Lewis of ECU here.
Round 6
Matt's Pick: Brandon Lindsey OLB, Pitt
Nate's Vote: BUY
I expect the Colts to load up on defense, but maintain my objection about Lewis still being available.
Round 7
Matt's Pick: Josh LeRibeus OG, SMU
Nate's Vote: SELL
Nate's Pick: Lance Lewis WR, ECU
Matt has got to stop sending every offensive lineman in the draft to Indianapolis. It's like he's trying to consciously kill the franchise. If the Colts draft three offensive lineman this weekend, you can book it that they won't make the playoffs before Grigson and Pagano lose their jobs. He still has Lewis on the board, and Indy has got to something to help Luck complete passes.
Matt's Pick: Marquis Maze, WR, Alabama
Nate's Vote: BUY
He'll probably be a kick returner at the next level. It's not a premium position, but at this stage of the draft, you are looking for players who will stick.
Matt's Pick: Nick Provo TE, Syracuse
Nate's Vote: BUY
I'm not going to quibble over Mr. Irrelevant.
BUY or SELL Matt Miller's Draft for Indianapolis
SELL. It's certainly a well researched, possible future for the Colts, but it's weighed down by an antiquated philosophy that running the football matters. If the Colts burn two of their top four picks on offensive linemen, next Monday will be the beginning of the "the dark ages" in Indianapolis.
