The Super Bowl XLVI halftime show will be remembered more for the special effects and star-studded guests that took the stage with Madonna.

The iconic star's performance was subpar at best, but thanks to great visual effects and a vulgar gesture from a guest of hers, the 2012 Super Bowl halftime show is one we won't soon forget.

The ego was shining bright right from the start, as Madonna was carried to the stage like a Greek God. Some might have left right after that, but those who stayed hoping to see something memorable got everything they wanted.

Sure, they had to suffer through some Madonna lip-syncing and awkward dance moves in extremely high heels, but everything other than Madonna made it great.

If you missed the halftime show, feel free to check it out below.

As you can see, the special effects on the stage were absolutely breathtaking as were the Cirque du Soleil performers.

Bringing out LMFAO livened up the party and Madonna's new song with Nicki Minaj and MIA was perhaps the most unforgettable part of the entire show. Oh, and Cee Lo Green dawned a huge robe, which was at least kind of funny to look at.

If you watch at the 7:53 mark, you see that rapper MIA tosses up the middle finger.

It definitely doesn't help that she threw the bird during the line "I don't give a $#!&." Of course, it was blurted in the performance, but MIA showed how much she didn't care by giving everyone the middle finger.

That probably didn't go over to well once she went backstage. Then again, she most likely doesn't give a $#!&.

There were thankfully no wardrobe malfunctions other than Madonna's dress/skirt flying up once or twice while dancing, but that's not near as bad as what happened a decade ago.

Even the crowd got involved during the end, which was pretty amazing. I even turned the light off near the end to enhance the viewing for the great special effects. Also, it was harder to see Madonna that way, which was nice.

In the end, Super Bowl XLVI delivered a spectacular game that will go down in history as one of the best ones ever. The halftime show, on the other hand, will be remembered for reasons other than the main star.
