Believe it or not, actor Rob Lowe announcing Peyton Manning's retirement on Twitter is not the weirdest report to hit the Internet today.

The Miami New Times reported something much stranger, claiming that Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and famous rapper Lil Wayne got into a scuffle at a Miami Beach hotel.

The report isn't entirely out of left field. It had been reported that Bryant had gotten into an altercation at a club on Sunday night, and his mentor confirmed to WFAA News in Dallas that it was with a "famous rapper's entourage."

So as strange as it sounds, the news of Bryant and Lil Wayne throwing down may actually be legit. So far, it's only been disputed by BlackSportsOnline.com, which claims that Bryant got into an altercation with a mere heckler, not Lil Wayne.

Whether or not it's true, Twitter has gotten a hold of the report. Mockery and hilarity have ensued.

At least one pigskin fan doesn't think Lil Wayne would be much of a match for Bryant in a fight:

Actually, make that two pigskin fans:

Or three:

Or four:

Well, you get the idea. Physically, Lil Wayne just isn't much of a match for Bryant.

While this guy only cares about the lulz:

And this guy is just plain confused:

No, Mr. Wheels. I'm pretty sure that's not the case.

Now, the question, naturally, is what exactly is the case? Is the report of the fight between Bryant and Lil Wayne true, or is this a bunch of Rob Lowe-like BS?

Honestly, there is no solid answer to that question. Not yet, anyway. Until Bryant and/or Lil Wayne come out and confirm it, the report of them getting into a fight is merely a rumor.

If the report is true, however, Bryant is going to be in trouble. He already has a reputation for being an off-the-field nightmare, and a fight with Lil Wayne would further cement that reputation.

If so, I think Ivan Carter of CSNWashington.com put it perfectly.

You couldn't say anything, Mr. Carter. All you could do is shake your head.
