NBA Trade Rumors: Deron Williams Joining Dwight Howard on Magic is a Pipe Dream

Orlando is in denial.

Superman looks determined to land in Los Angeles or New York. Apparently the Magic are still playing stubborn, though.

According to clickorlando.com, sources have told Local 6 Sports Director David Pingalore that not only is Dwight Howard rethinking his trade demands, but that the Magic are trying to reel in Deron Williams from the New Jersey Nets. 

First off, the Orlando Magic don’t even have the slightest shot to get Williams. Who would they offer?  Big Baby?

The New Jersey Nets sent Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, two-first round picks and $3 million to the Utah Jazz for Williams. Orlando’s only offer that the Nets would even consider is Howard himself. And that isn’t happening; neither star would re-sign without any talent around them.

Adidas wants Howard in LA or NY, not Orlando. Howard isn’t going to change his mind and stick with the Magic all of sudden. In fact, according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, D12 even said that he still wants out.

So much for Pingalore’s sources. 

Howard isn’t signing an extension in Orlando. Of course, if the Magic actually believe they could trade for Williams they’ll probably believe anything. They need to come back to reality and deal Howard to the highest bidder to stay relevant.
