NBA Rumors: Phoenix Suns' Medical Staff Will Work Wonders on Michael Redd

Patrick ClarkeJan 1, 2012

Veteran sharpshooter Michael Redd will experience a career resurgence with the Phoenix Suns in 2012 thanks to the team's superb medical staff.

Redd signed with the team earlier this week, and according to The Arizona Republic, the highly-praised training staff was a huge reason why.

"

That was big, that was one of the things that really drew me to this organization—the fact that they had this incredible medical staff. I wanted to be part of that to get better. But I feel great. I thought I did, until I met the medical staff and they said I can make some adjustments.

Like Steve Nash, Grant Hill and even Shaquille O'Neal, Redd will prolong his injury-plagued career in the desert by taking tips from the best medical brains in the NBA

A two-time MVP with Phoenix after turning 30, Nash has continued to play at a remarkable level despite nearing age 40 and suffering from a debilitating back problem which requires him to lay on the sideline during games to stay loose.

It's safe to say the training staff is on top of it.

The same goes for Hill, who was a highly coveted piece in free agency this offseason thanks to his consistent court time with the Suns over the years. He only missed three games for Phoenix the past three years.

The staff even helped return former Suns forward Amar'e Stoudemire back into an All-Star after recovering from two microscopic knee surgeries. The list goes on and on.

But once the Suns' medical personnel gets Redd back on track and 100 percent, Phoenix will have some much-needed firepower in the backcourt. Redd is a 20 PPG scorer for his career and one of the deadliest three-point shooters in the league today.

Redd's high character and NBA experience will fit in with guys like Nash and Hill right away, and the three will continue to lead by example and benefit from the Suns trainers on their way to what will seem like never-ending careers.
