MLB's 10 Uncanny Celebrity Doppelgangers

Zak SchmollDec 28, 2011

A recent article from Fox Sports made up a list of several MLB athletes and their look-alikes. However, their list only contained 15 names. Therefore, I submit for your approval 10 more athletes and their celebrity twins.

Notice, if there were particular features that stood out to me as strikingly similar, I was more willing to overlook certain other areas with a little bit more difference. I tried to look at their main physical features.

Comment if you have more ideas!

James Earl Jones-Dusty Baker

1 of 10

Both of these men have obvious connections to baseball legend.

Dusty Baker is of course one of the best managers in modern history. James Earl Jones is of course the seemingly terrifying keeper of "The Beast" (said in unison by a bunch of seemingly misfit ballplayers) in the movie "The Sandlot."

These two classics also bear striking resemblance to one another.

Ben Affleck-Theo Epstein

2 of 10

Theo Epstein might be best known as the general manager who finally broke The Curse of the Bambino for the Boston Red Sox.

Ben Affleck was born in California but raised in Boston as well. Although Affleck appears to be more clean-shaven than Epstein in these images, both of them have a similar hairstyle and similar facial dimensions.

Chipper Jones-Matt Damon

3 of 10

A look at these two guys will show that they have nearly identical smiles. They also have very similar records of success that what they do.

Chipper Jones has 2,615 hits in his career, and Matt Damon has starred in The Bourne Trilogy as well as the always-popular Saving Private Ryan. There are definitely some of the best at what they do.

Chase Utley-James Dean

4 of 10

Both of these men have a similar nose and are both known for their slick hair.

Chase Utley has been the centerpiece of their current success of the Phillies. James Dean had a highly touted film career highlighted by two Oscars before he died a tragic death at the age of 24.

Although there is a relatively substantial difference in age, these two appear to be pretty similar.

Ubaldo Jimenez-Columbus Short

5 of 10

Ubaldo Jimenez and Columbus Short have very long, thin faces with a very similar hairstyle and skin tone.

Jimenez has the potential to be one of the best pitchers in baseball, and he really put it together in 2010 when he went 19-8. Short might not be a huge star, but he is well known for his role in the Stomp the Yard series.

Cole Hamels-Zac Efron

6 of 10

The swept bangs and round chin sealed this one for me. Cole Hamels has been one of the best arms in a highly talented Philadelphia Phillies rotation, and he was the World Series MVP when they won it all in 2008.

Zac Efron is best known for his role in the Disney sensation High School Musical, as well as the musical Hairspray.

Alex Rodriguez-Liam Hemsworth

7 of 10

One of the biggest differences between these two individuals is not physical. Rather, it is that one is on the back end of a brilliant career while the other is a rising star.

Alex Rodriguez is one of the most prolific home run hitters of this generation, but he is now 36 years old and is beginning to slide.

Liam Hemsworth has appeared most notably in The Last Song, but he will be appearing in the upcoming blockbuster The Hunger Games (sorry that I am going a little bit heavy on teen stars right now).

Jayson Werth-Brad Pitt

8 of 10

These two highly successful men looked pretty similar when both sported long hair and a full beard.

Jayson Werth came into his own as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies and turned that success into a huge paycheck from the Washington Nationals.

Brad Pitt just solidified his connection to baseball by portraying Billy Beane in the film rendition of Moneyball.

JJ Hardy-Ryan Reynolds

9 of 10

JJ Hardy and Ryan Reynolds might be a bit of a stretch, but if you picture Hardy without his goatee, they will look surprisingly similar.

Hardy is currently the shortstop of the Baltimore Orioles, and he has developed into one of the best power-hitting shortstops in baseball right now. Reynolds is probably best known for his title role as The Green Lantern.

Mike Stanton-Nelly

10 of 10

Mike Stanton is one of the fastest rising stars in baseball. He has a ton of power, and is a very fun player to watch.

Nelly is one of the most successful rappers of our generation. Both of these men know what it is like to be a phenom.

Stanton currently is one, and Nelly graduated from that class. Stanton is a lot bigger, but they have very similar faces.
