NBA: Charlotte Bobcats Need Luck to Beat Miami to Make Playoffs

Here we go again—another NBA season where I get to root for my favorite losers, the Charlotte Bobcats.

It is a shame many people do not even know they exist. It is also a shame Michael Jordan hasn't done a better job with the team.

The loss of Gerald Wallace really hurt the team in obvious ways, and trading Stephen Jackson didn't help much either. But the release of Tyson Chandler only paid dividends for the team he went to.

Either way, Bobcat fans have a great team to look forward to next year. Or do they?

While no one can deny Kemba Walker and Bismack Biyombo have a great upside, they are still unproven rookies. Another problem the Bobcats seem to have is they constantly trade young, athletic players for old, washed-up players.

While I am no NBA expert, I believe the Bobcats lineup will look like this:

PG: D.J. Augustin

SG: Kebma Walker

SF: Corey Maggette

PF: Tyrus Thomas

C: Desagana Diop

While this lineup may look promising to some, I believe that Augustin and Thomas are the only players guaranteed to perform this year.

The NBA season is going to be long and arduous, with several back-to-back games. Teams need depth in order to make the playoffs this year, and the Bobcats simply do not have it.

I don't have an official prediction in terms of wins and losses because honestly I don't know if they are even good enough to win a single game. The Bobcats have great talent that can take them to the brink of the playoffs, but a lack of depth at virtually every position will halt them from seriously considering a bid.

If Dwight Howard leaves the Orlando Magic, that leaves a small window of opportunity, but I believe the other teams in the East are just too good.
