Cristiano Ronaldo's 10 Greatest Goals for Real Madrid

Allan JiangDec 6, 2011

Having completed his £80 million transfer, Cristiano Ronaldo was welcomed by footballing legend Alfredo Di Stéfano.

56 years before, Di Stéfano was caught in the middle of a vicious tug of war between Barcelona and Real Madrid for his services.

Whilst Ronaldo is as complete as a forward as Di Stéfano, he lacked the defensive capabilities of the Argentine turned Colombian turned Spaniard.

What Ronaldo doesn't lack is goals. He's scoring them as if it was 1960 again.

Here are Ronaldo's 11 greatest goals for Real Madrid.

I've only included HD or good quality videos so you can actually see the goal.

Marseille

If my memory serves me correctly, this was during Cristiano Ronaldo's first season at Real Madrid—remember he was burdened with that £80 million transfer fee.

There was a two-year period between 2007-2009 where Ronaldo consistently scored some beautiful free kicks.

Prior to the free kick, Mateo Musacchio foolishly fouled Cristiano Ronaldo and I thought, "Has the Argentine defender been living under a rock?"

Doesn't he know of Ronaldo's free kick prowess?

Well he found out.

If you were wondering, what was written on Ronaldo's shirt, it was Madeira.

He gave tribute to those who lost their lives in the mudslide. Why you ask?

He's a Madeira native.

I'm going to give the commentator the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was his first match, but either way he was terrible.

I'm confused as to why he threw in Robert Louis Stevenson.

I wonder if this was the game where Real Madrid's interest in Pedro León started because he had a decent game and was pretty good that season.

Real Valladolid

This game was bad tempered as Real Valladolid did not play football but rather went about kicking Real Madrid, specifically targeting Cristiano Ronaldo.

Pelé (I know, "Why did his parents name him Pelé?"), was one of the worst offenders.

He must have given away at least five free kicks.

Almería

Diego Alves was having a fantastic game, yet Cristiano Ronaldo cut through Almería's defence like a hot knife through butter and off his weaker foot slotted it straight in the corner.

Judging by Hernán Bernardello's reaction (No. 25), I wonder if he regretted not kicking Ronaldo.

Sure enough 10 minutes later, Bernardello was booked.

Real Zaragoza

Spitting on his gloves still didn't help Leo Franco, nor could he blame his wall.

Los Angeles Galaxy

I love the fact Cristiano Ronaldo's last step over was not pointless and although it disadvantaged him, somehow he still scored from an absurd angle.

This goal was played all over ESPN and probably over the United States media.

The fact he scored against the Los Angeles Galaxy was a perfect opportunity to expand his name.

Hertha Berlin

This goal is just amazing!

Barcelona

What a cross from Ángel di María and a great header from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Remember this was in the Copa del Rey final.

It wasn't the first time he scored a header in a final as Chelsea supporters can testify.

Málaga

I won't soon forget Liédson's facial expression when Cristiano Ronaldo scored that freak goal against North Korea.

Well I had the same facial expression when I watched Ronaldo score this acrobatic goal.

Your Opinion

I really wanted to show you the goal he scored against Valencia where he took the ball from inside his half, surged through the non-existant defence and scored.

Mind you, David Albelda had been red carded.

I also wanted to show you the goal against Real Mallorca where Cristiano Ronaldo just blitzed his way past Rubén, Nunes and Josemi (rubbish at Liverpool).

Alas, I couldn't find suitable YouTube videos for either of these goals.

Just remember Ronaldo has scored 107 goals (and counting) and picking 11 means the list isn't exhaustive.

So if you have a goal which isn't on this list, please comment below with a YouTube link.
