Why Albert Haynesworth is Final Nail in Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Coffin
When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers claimed Albert Haynesworth off waivers, I knew they had just hammered home the last nail in their coffin.
After starting out the season with a 3-1 record, the Buccaneers were humiliated in San Francisco by the 49ers. The team hasn't recovered from that shellacking.
This latest move, adding Haynesworth, reeks of desperation. The Buccaneers have fallen short of the high expectations they started the season with, and in a vain effort to give their team a spark, they brought in a chronic under-achieving, out of shape, twice-rejected player.

When you think of Albert Haynesworth, the last thing you think of is discipline and consistency. Instead most people would say that he's the opposite. He certainly doesn't bring the team perseverance and leadership.
The Buccaneers decided to lay back in free agency during the past offseason. The team decided to stand pat and develop their young talent. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to me, that plan has backfired.
The Buccaneers could have used a couple of veterans that came from established organizations and could bring a winning attitude to a young team. I don't know what the Buccaneers think Haynesworth could do to positively impact the young players on this team.
I do know that Haynesworth isn't the answer. He has been a cancer in the locker room in Washington, he couldn't cut the mustard with New England, and he looks like an old Ford pickup truck. FORD stands for "fix or repair daily".
At best, he'll keep the Tampa Bay training staff busy.
