WWE Raw Results: Top 10 Moments from the Best Raw Episode Ever

Justin WatryNov 1, 2011

Last night, WWE Raw was an excellent show. I am trying to think of an episode that was better than this one. I am sure there was a better two hours of WWE at some point, but right now? This was in a class of its own.

I'd have to give it a pure "A+" grade. No doubt was this show filled with great moments that put a smile on my face all night long. I even got a few of my Muppets predictions right! Why was this such an epic night? Well, let me tell you 10 reasons...

10. The Rock Promo

1 of 10

As I predicted, The Rock appeared on the big screen. It was for the best. I did not want to see The Rock show up this week. That can happen in two weeks, not now.

Rocky cut his usual promo. He accepted the Survivor Series "challenge," hit all his catch phrases, insulted guys and left. It was fine. Nothing big. Nothing bad.

Rocky and John Cena vs. Mike "The Miz" Mizanin and R-Truth is official for Madison Square Garden.

9. Eve Wins the Battle Royal

2 of 10

I did not like this too much. Why did Alicia Fox beat Nattie last week? Why is Eve getting another title match? Honestly, I don't care too much. As long as Beth keeps defeating women while waiting for Kharma to return, I am fine.

This gets a higher spot than The Rock because they were in Halloween costumes. Being a man who trick or treats each and every year for Halloween, this was great to see. Awesome job, girls!

8. Air Boom Loses...Again!

3 of 10

I did not like them losing on SmackDown a few days, but I could live with it because it was to Awesome Truth. I did not like them losing on Raw last night. I am a huge Wade Barrett fan. I am a huge Cody Rhodes fan.

However, Air Boom is slowly losing their momentum from a few weeks ago. I wrote about this when Air Boom won the tag straps. They needed new teams to debut, or this push would end soon. Well, here we are now...

7. Big Show vs Alberto Del Rio

4 of 10

This was a very nice match. The Big Show vs. Alberto Del Rio had a great match a few months ago, and they came through again last night. I just never understood the hate for "big men" wrestling. Didn't Big Show and Mark Henry just have the match of the night at Vengeance?

Well, Big Show is now having a wonderful match on Raw, going nearly 20 minutes. Again, I don't "get" the hate on big men having matches. Oh well. Del Rio lost. You know, the current WWE Champion?

I am a little torn on that decision, but it does tell me one thing. Alberto Del Rio will not leave his feud with CM Punk as WWE Champion. You can mark that one down. Punk will eventually get the title off of Alberto. Speaking of Punk...

6. Punk's Night

5 of 10

I thought CM Punk had a great night. I am not very excited about the Del Rio/Punk feud, but he did his job well last night. His match, backstage promo, and in ring promo were all very fun to watch.

Again, Punk will get the strap off of Del Rio at some point in the next few months, but the ride getting there should be interesting. Good job Punk!

Warning: There is a spoiler for WWE Superstars up next. Anyone that cares might want to skip the next slide and/or click the "Back" button now!

5. John Morrison Loses on WWE Superstars

6 of 10

According to this report, John Morrison lost on WWE Superstars to Drew McIntyre! Yes, Drew McIntyre! You know? The man who has not been on WWE TV in a featured role in months...the guy who was recently losing on WWE Superstars himself...

He is now defeating John Morrison! Who is next? Jobby Curtis beating Job Morrison in a dark match?

We all know Brodus Clay is returning to WWE Raw next week! My choice for his opponent? Well, Mr. John Morrison should do just fine! Hey, maybe Kevin Nash can return and beat him down? He will be on Raw next week as well!

Of course, that is if he is still with the company. Remember, it is of my opinion (and has been for months and month) that Morrison is leaving WWE. Just my opinion!

4. Ryder and Dolph Wrestle

7 of 10

This was another great match. Ryder getting the (tainted) win was a nice moment for the Atlanta crowd. They were a pretty quiet audience all night, but they loved this!

I mentioned this a week or so ago, but can you imagine the New York City "smark" crowd at Survivor Series if Zack Ryder win the United States title there? Sure seems to be heading in that direction...

3. The Final 20 Minutes Was Bad...BAD!

8 of 10

I felt the need to put this at No. 3 because it deserved a spotlight. Putting it at No. 10 or No. 9 would not do these final segments justice.

I try to be positive. I approach everything with a great outlook, and this show was no different. I gave this show an "A+" grade remember! However, let me say a few things here:

1. I am usually NEVER a fan of "bait and switches" in this business. I do not care if they changed their minds. I do not care if WWE was "running late" on the show. I do not care if people did not want to see Jim Ross/Michael Cole anyways, so this was a blessing in disguise.

The fact of the matter is they hyped up the "Michael Cole Challenge" all week, and they did not deliver. Simply put, I do not condone this at all. Again, name all the excuses you want, but pushing this to NEXT week was not okay in my book.

2. John Cena vs. The Miz was a good match. Very short, but fine! However, the entire "Truth interference" part was not needed. It was not what I wanted to see end Raw at all. Cena can stand tall. I had no problem there, but laying out Truth and Miz in the process? No.

2. The Muppets Delivered!

9 of 10

The Muppets delivered in a big way!

First, we got a great Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog skit. Then we got an epic Sheamus and Beaker backstage segment. That made my night!

Gonzo and Fozzie had a wonderful moment with Ziggler. Oh my, what a great segment...

Of course, we also saw Santino win over Jack Swagger with a little help ringside from the Muppets' "special drink." Classic comedy there!

The Statler and Waldorf comments from the balcony were just too much! I loved every line they had. Even Hornswoggle got to show off his Muppets tattoos!

It was very special night for all Muppet fans around the world. However, there was one moment that was just a "tad" bit better...

1. The Mark Henry Praise Will Not Stop...

10 of 10

The WWE Champion lost clean last night.

The WWE Tag Team Champions lost clean last night.

The United States Champion lost (sort of) clean last night.

Mark Henry, the current World Champion, beat CM Punk in the opening match. All of the other champions lost, but did Henry lose? Did Henry take a beating last night? No and no!

His match with Punk was a thing of beauty, while his post match beat down on Ricardo Rodriguez was done perfectly! The path of destruction will not stop, and being the driver of his bandwagon could not feel any better right now!

Mark Henry is NEVER, ever losing the World Heavyweight Championship!
