WWE: Would Being Cast as Thor Have Made Triple H a Movie Star?

Triple H has dabbled in acting, but he is no way a critical or box office success. In fact, his best role to date may still be his small part in Blade 3 as a vampire.

Rumors were heavy during pre-production for Thor that Triple H was being considered to be the leader of Asgard. Chris Hemsworth was instead cast and the movie portrayed a young Thor finding his place in the kingdom.

Triple H was said by the director to have been high on a very short list of those who could play the Mjolnir-wielding superhero. Thor is set for a sequel, and the character will appear in the upcoming Avengers movie.

Triple H had pretty much modeled his look in a way that made him resemble Thor for many years. The beard, the long, blond hair and the bulging muscles made him the perfect choice based on looks alone.

Unfortunately for Trips he was not cast, and has gone on to make a few movies including the poorly rated Chaperone and the slightly less poorly rated Inside Out which was originally slated to be a movie for Batista.

His acting ability is generally praised by critics, while the stories he is in are panned universally. If he would have been cast as Thor, it would have opened up a whole new world to him and elevated him to the same status as The Rock.

Had he been Thor he would have had at least three blockbuster movies seeing as there will be a sequel as well as The Avengers.

I am not sure if it is in the cards for Triple H to be a bona fide movie star, which is not a bad thing because he is going to be working with WWE on the corporate side of things, whereas Rocky wanted to be a movie star and left.

I actually wish Triple H had been cast as Thor, though, because he could have easily pulled off playing a cocky warrior. Thor is known to be a great warrior but also starts out with a large ego—sounds a lot like Triple H, if you ask me.
