WWE Rumors: Chris Jericho and Mick Foley Returning to WWE?

Justin WatryOct 11, 2011

We have all read the rumors. We all know it is just a matter of time.

According to this report, that time may be sooner than we think.

I have already covered Mick Foley returning to WWE. Weeks later, my thoughts are the exact same: He is best outside of the ring, whether it is as a representative for "BE a STAR" programs or speaking engagements for Linda McMahon's Senate run next year.

Not only that, but there is also an opening for the RAW General Manager position. Johnny Ace is just a temporary move. The full time move? We will have to wait on that one...

As for my thoughts on Mick possibly wrestling a match once or twice a year? I am not sold on that as much as many others are. First of all, could he pass a physical? He has openly spoke about his concussions. That is serious business in 2011 and beyond.

Secondly, he would need to be in shape and ready to go in the ring. Whether it is for a few matches or even one more match, I want him to be fully committed. If not, stay out of the ring.

Assuming he is healthy enough and 100 percent willing to go, I say why not? There are a number of guys he could face and put over.

Jericho is a different story. In my mind, he has a lot more left in the tank.

In the same WrestleZone story, it is made very clear that Jericho is talking to WWE about a return. It is not a full-time return, but it is enough to garner the attention of fans around the world.

A Royal Rumble surprise here? A big WrestleMania match there? A Summerslam comeback? Again, why not? It is not full-time, so he wouldn't be "stealing a spot" or whatever ridiculous excuse there would be against him returning.

Best of all, both guys are known to lose a lot more than win, so putting over any number of young wrestlers on the roster should be the ultimate endgame. Being a World Champion for either man in 2011 or 2012 does nothing for their legacy. They are both future Hall of Famers, and next to nothing can change that.

Also of note: Both are set to be in the UK at the exact same time as WWE in November. Is something already set? Is it just coincidence? Are any of these rumors true?

Comment below and tell me what you all think. Thanks!
