WWE Hot Rumor: Mick Foley Set to Return

Justin WatryJun 7, 2018

The title may be a bit misleading, but it remains true—all reports, Twitter posts, dirt sheet stories and signs point to Mrs. Foley's Baby Boy making his way make to WWE, sooner rather than later.

Based on most articles, his contract with TNA either expires in the next month or two or he has already been outright released from DixieLand. Clearly, his relationship with TNA is done, whether it is official right now or soon to be official.

Honestly, this is great news in my eyes. Foley can add a ton to the industry, even at his age. Being in the ring full-time is NOT one of those options. Being in the ring part-time is not even an option. Being in the ring once or twice a year certainly is fine with me. Think of Nash and/or Booker T right now.

Both went to the Impact Zone a few years ago, saw how bush league the operation was, regretted going there almost immediately (outside of collecting the paycheck, of course) and were looking for ways out of there. For Mick, the time is coming for his "moment."

Whether it is charity work he is known for, or being Raw GM, Smackdown GM or even returning to the broadcast booth (unlikely, but with Vince McMahon no longer there to scream in his ear, who knows?), a TV return is not out of the question. Most likely, a Legends Deal is in the books, with media appearances, WWE Network shows, Tough Enough cameos, special referee spots, house show hosts or an even a backstage creative consultant.

All of the above are possible, but the one constant—WWE. He knows where the money is, he knows where Rock and Sock could reunite one more time. He knows where his books could get maximum exposure (his TNA one bombed, his WWE ones were best sellers). Foley knows he should be in WWE and soon enough he will be.
