Philadelphia Eagles: How To Get a Playoff Berth

Okay, so you're 6-5-1 with four games to play. Oh, and you're also five games back from the leader of the NFC East (NY Giants). How in the world are you going to get into the playoffs?

REMAINING SCHEDULE

The Eagles' remaining schedule looks very difficult, especially playing games against teams they've already lost to this season.

Philadelphia Eagles (6-5-1) at New York Giants (11-1) - Sunday, Dec. 7 1:00 PM EST

Last game played between the Eagles and the Giants, Philadelphia 31, New York Giants 36. But, that game was at home for the Eagles, maybe they'll have better luck in Giants Stadium.

Cleveland Browns (4-8) at Philadelphia Eagles (6-5-1) - Monday, Dec. 15, 8:30 PM EST

Last game played between the Eagles and Browns, Philadelphia 20, Cleveland Browns 7. But, that game was played in the 2006 preseason, and I guarantee that things have changed.

Philadelphia Eagles (6-5-1) at Washington Redskins (7-5) - Sunday, Dec. 21, 1:00 PM EST

Last game played between the Eagles and the Redskins, Philadelphia 17, Washington 23. This game was played in the beginning of the season at Lincoln Financial Field. Maybe they'll have better luck in FedEx Field.

Dallas Cowboys (8-4) at Philadelphia Eagles (6-5-1) - Sunday, Dec. 21, 1:00 PM EST

Last game played between the Eagles and the Cowboys, Philadelphia 37, Dallas 41. This game was played at Texas Stadium, maybe Lincoln Financial will give the Eagles a win for their last regular-season game.

So, as their remaining schedule goes, I think they may have one of the toughest. The Eagles are falling farther back every week. They need some wins, and some losses by other teams.

PLAYOFF POSITION AS OF TODAY

Division leaders: New York Giants (11-1), Minnesota Vikings (7-5), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-3), Arizona Cardinals (7-5).

Wild card leaders: Carolina Panthers (9-3), TIE Dallas Cowboys (8-4) and Atlanta Falcons (8-4).

Still in the running: Washington Redskins (7-5), Philadelphia Eagles (6-5-1), Chicago Bears (6-6), New Orleans Saints (6-6), Green Bay Packers (5-7), and the San Francisco 49ers (4-8).

I'm not saying it won't happen, but they will need a miracle to pull this one off.
