NFL Picks Week 4: Which Undefeated Teams Will Stay That Way?

Joseph HealyOct 1, 2011

One of the fun side stories to follow in any NFL season is which team will be the last team to get their first loss.

We are down to just three teams in the running this season: the Packers, Bills and Lions.

It's tough telling which team will be the last to get their first loss (assuming they all lose at some point), but for at least one more week, all three teams will remain undefeated.

The easiest win for one of the undefeated teams will be the Packers over the Broncos.

The Packers haven't put up gaudy stats in any way, but they have been solid as a rock so far this season. Aaron Rodgers has picked up right where he left off last season, and all that offense does is develop new stars. James Starks has filled in admirably for Ryan Grant, and Randall Cobb has emerged as a threat on offense and in the return game. The Broncos just don't have the talent on either side of the ball to keep up with the defending Super Bowl champs.

The Detroit Lions were a popular pick in the preseason to make the postseason, and they have held up their end of the bargain so far. Of the three teams, they will have the toughest time extending their winning streak. Their opponent, the Dallas Cowboys, are a talented team that has yet to really put it all together. They will give the Lions a tough game, but ultimately their weak pass defense will do them in.

The Buffalo Bills have been the big surprise of the NFL season so far. They have been winning shootouts against their opponents. They traded blows with the Raiders and Patriots, respectively, in their Week 2 and Week 3 wins, and they won their Week 1 against the Chiefs in a blowout. Their Week 4 win over the Cincinnati Bengals will be much more like their Week 1 win than their other two wins. The Bengals just won't have the firepower to go back and forth with Buffalo.

The mystery of which team will go the longest without a loss will soldier for at least another week, as these three teams will get another huge win.
