WWE Should Send John Morrison Down to FCW Right Now
Before I get started, let me post a few qualifiers first:
1. Yesterday, I wrote about John Morrison belonging in the mid card. Today, I publicly take back that article and just about everything I talked about.
2. FCW stand for Florida Championship Wrestling. It is WWE's training facility in Florida (duh!).
3. This article is going to come off as negative, and as positive as I am, this will hopefully end up as a positive experience for Mr. John Morrison.
Now we can dive into this!
Last month when John Morrison returned from injury, it was supposed to be "his time," "his moment in the sun." He was a fresh, new face on the Red Brand and had a ready made feud with R-Truth.
Everything was lined up perfectly for a hot Summerslam match (or even a feud after). Except nothing like that happened.
Morrison lost that week on Smackdown, then lost some more...then lost some more. This all coming right off his big return, remember...
Well, since then he has picked up a win over R-Truth, one that was forgotten about the following week as if it never happened. Also, if you want to add in his six-man tag win at Summerslam, go ahead. He did not get the pin, but he was on the winning team.
Now, here we are, mid card torture for Morrison and all of his fans...what to do...what to do?
Well, my idea is to freshen him up. I try to stay away from "fantasy booking" as much as possible, but he needs a new spark in his career. Something!
Send him down to FCW for a few months and freshen his character up—trust me, he needs it.
He can work on his promo skills. We all agree he is terrible on the mic (don't deny it!). Let him get some pointers down in Florida and finally address that weakness he has.
Second, he can improve his in-ring skills. Yeah, he does a bunch of cool flips. Big deal! Go to the X-Divison in TNA, if that is actually worth a darn (it isn't).
Learn the WWE Style and things may actually start to look bright in your future. Ask Sin Cara about how important learning the WWE style is...Mistico is on the verge of losing his job over it.
Finally, make him earn some respect from the boys. Whether you want to believe all the rumors out there or not, it just doesn't seem like many people believe in him. On-screen and off-screen.
Blame Melina. Blame Trish. Blame his attitude. Blame Twitter. Blame whatever you want. Make him "pay some dues" a little bit longer and bring him back with a renewed focus on the business.
Now, this may all sound negative, but it is not. Tons of guys have been sent down to FCW (or Ohio Valley Wrestling years ago).
It can help, not hurt one's career, if used correctly.
Prime example: Big Show was sent down to their training facility in 2000. He had a poor attitude, tons of heat on him and needed work on his in-ring abilities. Guess what? He learned from it, came back and dominated the company!
This reminds me of John Morrison right now. he could have a great future in this business, but right now, there is nothing going on for him. Nothing at all!
Sent him down to FCW and see what comes of it...
