1. Miami Dolphins: Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU The Miami Dolphins are a good all-around team, but they’ve come up against some serious struggles this year with both offense and defense. If there were a top tier receiver in the NFL Draft, I believe they would have to go that route—but, of course, there isn’t one.
I see them going for either Jake Long or Chris Long.
Jake Long is a very good offensive lineman—but the Dolphins are already strong here. Dorsey has had some injury problems this year, so if they decide they want to go with a safer pick Chris Long has the leadership skills and talent to be a top tier defensive end like his father, Howie Long.
Either way, the Dolphins need to build through the NFL Draft if they want to progress as a team.
2. St. Louis Rams: Jake Long, OT, Michigan
The St. Louis Rams were expected to perform much more skillfully this season than they did. There were a couple of injuries throughout the year that hurt them, but all in all they just couldn’t win games in the fourth quarter.
Look for the Rams to improve their offensive line here in order to eventually replace the oft-injured Orlando Pace. Long, a very good offensive lineman from Michigan, gets the job done every play.
However, the Rams could potentially trade down to someone looking to get Darren McFadden and then take a WR to replace the aging Isaac Bruce.
These guys could be good next year; they have the talent. If they get things clicking, look for them to turn things around and make the playoffs.
3. Atlanta Falcons: Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College
The Falcons organization has faced some hard times this year, what with Vick’s arrest and the newly acquired coach’s abandonment of the team.
I predict they’ll take a quarterback in this draft. Matt Ryan seems to be the first QB up for consideration in 2008. At Boston College he demonstrated both arm strength and intelligence.
However, if Jake Long is still available I think you’ll see that the Falcons will take a good look at him—they desperately need to improve the O-Line.
If Bobby Petrino were still with the Falcons, I would say they’d pick Brohm. But I think Ryan is the better choice in this situation.
Lastly, McFadden is also a possible choice here because Warrick Dunn is getting old. But then again, they still have a young Norwood, who seems to be the future of their RBs.
4. Oakland Raiders: Chris Long, DE, Virginia

good mock, i know the eagles need a line men yes, but how can they pass up RB,s, McFadden,Rice, F.Jones, all would be upgrades from buckhalter and you could flank westbrook at WR. WR,s desean Jackson or M. Maningham could step in and be a # 2 right away, i want to grab R. Williams from Detroit personilly. The 1 other player i would grab is the beast at TE, davis out of uSc,, i smell antonio gates! yes the game is won in the trenches but the only linemen i feel 1st round draft worthy is J. Long. they shoulve took D. jerret or R. Meachom last year in the first and Brohm or woodson would of fell right in our laps this year, at least i know who they are, i never heard of K Kolb before we took him. i wanted Edwards or the kid from BYU who ended up in miami. It wouldent surprise me if we did take another linemen in the first, but every year i watch us pass futer playmakers and take a bust in the 1st, when will it end?

Overall, pretty good...but, there are a few errors.
1. James Laurinaitis is returning to Ohio St. for him senior year.
As far as my opinion goes.
1. Sam Baker will not be going in the top 5, and will most likely be taken in the 15-20 range, if not lower.
2. Ray Rice, def. not a first rounder. He does not have great speed, and is really undersized to be a top tier back...especially in this year's class.
3. You left Illinois' Rashard Mendenhall out of the first round, and I think he goes before Rice. Many people didn't know about Mendenhall before the Rose Bowl, but he put up good numbers in what otherwise was a terrible game.
4. Vernon Gholston is a top 10 pick based on physical ability alone.

I think you are crazy if you think Henne should not go in the first round. He is a better pro
style quaterback than Woodson. You need to remember Henne was hurt much of the year,
and against Ohio State he played with a slightly seperated shoulder. Also Manningham is
one of the most dynamic receivers with the most speed-dont you think he deserves high
consideration?

This shouldn't even be filed as a new mock draft, it was just taken from every month-old mock draft. Glen Dorsey isn't a nose tackle and doesn’t fit the 3-4 defense that Miami will try to instill. Al Davis won't draft defense in the first round when their offense struggled so much, even if it is Howie Long's kid. After firing Bilick for not producing on offense, Baltimore will draft someone who will contribute on every play (OT or QB), not a WR who would only touch the bal 5-7 times a game even if they had a good O-line, QB, and Gameplan. If they don't like their options they will trade down. Frank Okam isn't even a top 5 DT let alone number 3. He doesn’t fit the hybridized gap system defense that Denver runs where DE's look one gap and DT's look two gap. Okam is a two gap DT, however even with the Denver DT's playing two gap they still want aggressive, smaller, faster, one gap style DT's. (Most of Denver's DT's are under 300lbs and the ones that are over barely crack 300) The Bears already have two QB's who lack mobility and make questionable decisions, why would they draft another, especially one whose stock dropped like a rock after Senior Bowl week. According to this mock Brohm would still be available, a much better choice, although the Bears should, and probably will, draft one of the top tier OTs available at 14 and wait until the second round to go after a QB like Flacco, Henne, or JDB. Mendenhall will be the second RB taken in the draft and you don't even have him in here. The date on this mock is 30 January, yet he has the Jags still in the playoffs and Green Bay, and Indi in the Super Bowl. This is real amateur hour stuff, don't quit the day job.
