NFL Free Agency: Just Relax Buccaneer Fans, Just Relax

Relax, Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans.

What's all this free agency huff anyway?

Can't even sign the outside guys until Friday. So just relax, first things first.

First thing: The Buccaneers are in the process of signing Davin Joseph and that's a good thing. Would rather have him back than Nnamdi, what's-his-name.

And speaking of cornerbacks, there's no need for any right now, really. Aqib Talib's back, Ronde Barber is back, the Bucs like Myron Lewis, E.J. Biggers and Elbert Mack. You will see them address the corner position in next year's draft.

Stop all this nonsense about spending money IMMEDIATELY. The Buccaneers and the rest of the NFL teams have the entire season to get to the salary cap floor.

"Hey, I wouldn't mind," is how your franchise quarterback, Josh Freeman, put it when someone asked him about contract extensions. Yes, lock that young fella up, there is NOT ONE FREE AGENT in the NFL who is worth what Josh Freeman is worth to this football team. Period, end of story.

Hey, you want splash big name free agents? Then go hang out with Dan Snyder up there in Washington and ask him how Donovan McNabb and Albert Haynesworth taste. Worthless free agent slugs.

You want free agents? The Buccaneers gave you Derrick Ward and you saw how that one worked out. Raise your hand if you liked Derrick Ward. I thought so.

Andrew Brandt of the National Football Post writes about the dangers of free agency, including the $36 million mistake known as Haynesworth the Blob. It could have been the Buccaneers' $36 million mistake. How did that taste, Dan Snyder?

So stop with the pining for Nnamdi and Reggie and whoever else you think is the next big thing for your Buccaneers.

Believe in Mark Dominik. He's the guy who delivered LeGarrette Blount to you, isn't he?

He's the guy who found Ted Larsen.

Dominik has someone or something up his sleeve.

It may not be the biggest name in the world but it will be someone who fits this team, fits the scheme.
