Nnamdi Asomugha Rumors: What Nnamdi-to-New York Jets Means for Rest of NFL
It has been made clear that the New York Jets are the front-runners in landing free agent cornerback, Nnamdi Asomugha, according to multiple sources.
Now SI.com is reporting that the Jets will be able to pay Asomugha $12 million per year if the two sides did reach an agreement on a contract.
If Asomugha joins the Jets, which will then pair him up with cornerback Darrelle Revis and could potentially create the league's top cornerback duo, what does this mean for the rest of the NFL?

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Well, for starters, the AFC East is going to be in big trouble—the Patriots more specifically.
Quarterback Tom Brady would have to deal with the coverage of Asomugha and Revis two times a year and could certainly cause some major concern. The Patriots' high-powered offense would definitely have a hard time getting their top two wide receivers, Deion Branch and Wes Welker, involved.
Asomugha teaming up with Revis is certainly frightening, but it could do some harm for the Jets—business-wise to be more specific.
It has been confirmed that wide receiver Santonio Holmes and the Jets have agreed to a five-year, $50 million contract, which is going to be a huge hit to the team's salary.
Prior to Holmes' agreement, the Jets were projected to be well over the $120 million league salary cap and by adding Asomugha for at least $12 million a year, they will be in big trouble.
Keep in mind that the Jets still have many holes to fill and it will be a definite struggle to do so when they're spending money on Holmes and Asomugha when they're projected to be well over.
The Jets literally have zero defensive tackles and need to add depth in their linebacker corps, which will be very difficult if the Jets keep adding big-time contracts.
The addition of Asomugha is certainly frightening, as him and Revis would create nightmares for all offensive coordinators in the NFL, but it will cause many problems for the Jets.
