On the heels of what could be considered a good night for TNA Wrestling, the writers, management and network have to be asking themselves what happens next after a roller coaster of publicity led to a successful PPV event.
The matches were both hot and cold in terms of excitement, with the Final Four X Match for the contract to TNA being the highlight of the night.
There were questions still left unanswered about the state of Fortune, whether Jerry Lynn will take a darker approach to his matches, and whether or not Samoa Joe has walked to the end of the line talent-wise.
The best thing that can be said about last night is that Impact Wrestling still matters.
The way they handled the story lines last night and the way they promoted what they thought was the biggest match ever in TNA (AJ Styles vs. his true friend, Daniels) shows they care.
The match opened the door for other sub-plots. Something is bound to happen on Thursday night with a confrontation or explanation that will divide the Fortune teammates as they head into the hot summer months.
Samoa Joe is on a losing streak. The once-dominant wrestler now looks mortal and has lost to the likes of Kazarian, RVD and Crimson. Bar fights and brawls won’t bring his persona back.
Which Match Did You Enjoy More?
Good writing and a niche for the big man will.
What I hope to see are the rivalries continuing: AJ and Daniels,Samoa Joe and Kazarian, Kendrick and Alex Shelley, Austin Aries and Low Ki (if they decide to keep him in the mix).
And I want the following questions answered: What becomes of Samoa Joe? Will Douglas Williams become a face? Will we ever see a real match with Eric Young? When will the Daniels heel turn happen? And does Abyss now side with Kendrick after Abyss lost because of Immortal’s interference?
So much is happening and more to come this week.
Yes, it is going to be a really great summer with wrestling in Florida.
