Though he threw for 254 yards and two touchdowns, he also had three picks. The problem this week is the New York Giants. The Giants defense shouldn’t have much trouble getting through Jacksonville’s young offensive line and putting pressure on Garrard.
The Giants are giving up just 11.8 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, and they’ve already recorded 27 sacks and 20 forced fumbles. It could be a long day for Garrard.
Marshawn Lynch (Buffalo Bills) vs. Kansas City
Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch hasn’t had one 100-yard game this year and in the last four games his highest rushing total was 48 yards.
Lynch has scored only two touchdowns on the season, with just one in his last five games. However, this isn’t just a case of a player not playing well.
Lynch is up against the Kansas City Chiefs this week and they have gotten their act together recently on defense. In their last five games the Chiefs have not given up one rushing touchdown. Even in deep leagues Lynch is not a good option to start this week.
Lee Evans (Buffalo Bills) vs. Pittsburgh
The production of Buffalo Bills wide receiver Lee Evans has started to drop off. He hasn’t caught a touchdown since Week 7, and in the last three games he’s caught just seven passes combined. He’s had just one 100-yard game this year.
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense is strong, and hasn’t given up a passing touchdown to a receiver in the last two weeks. Plus, they held the Oakland Raiders to just 168 passing yards with two picks last week. All that points to a long game for Evans and the rest of the Buffalo receivers.
POTENTIAL QB SLEEPER PICK OF THE WEEK
Sam Bradford (St. Louis Rams) at Denver
Bradford threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns against the Atlanta Falcons last week, but did throw his first interception since Week 5 in the Rams’ loss.
Week 12 brings what looks to be a favorable matchup against the Denver Broncos, who have allowed eight passing touchdowns over the last two games along with just over 18 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks overall this season.
The Broncos’ offense may put up some points against a vulnerable Rams’ defense, which would then force Bradford to have to throw the ball more to keep up. The rookie from Oklahoma is certainly worth considering in leagues where you have to start two quarterbacks.
POTENTIAL WR SLEEPER PICK OF THE WEEK
Brian Hartline (Miami Dolphins) at Oakland
Hartline was the one productive Dolphin in Week 11 against the Chicago Bears, as he had five catches for 70 yards as Miami was shutout in the game. He now has at least four catches in six consecutive games, and his production has not wavered no matter who is under center for the Dolphins.
Oakland has allowed four touchdowns and 26 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers over their last two games, so Hartline could be in for another solid outing. He is worth considering as a WR3, particularly in PPR leagues.
