A Response to Patriots Fans: Belichick Got Off Easy for Spygate
How many times has Bill Belichick spied on other teams? TheĀ first game of last seasonĀ against the Jets could not have been the first time. However, the response from the Patriots' fans response is always the same:
1. "Every team does it."
Try that excuse the next time you are pulled over for speeding.Ā If we are guilty, let's tarnish the whole league.

2. "Mangini is a former Patriots coach and has benefited from it in the past (so the whole affair is his fault)."
If Mangini was aware of it in New England, does he have to sit back and take it when coaching another team?
3. "The Patriots do not gain anything from filming opposing team."
Why cheat and put your team at risk if there is nothing gained?
4. "The Pats don't need to cheat to beat all the rest of the teams in the NFL."
If we are guilty, let's denigrate the whole league.
The funny thing is that Spygate was used as an angry rallying cry by the Patriots to destroy all the other teams and run up scores to make them pay for catching them cheating.Ā
Maybe he was angry at the Jets.Ā He was coach of the Jets for one day, and then quit.Ā I'm not saying he's a bad guy, but seriously, whyĀ spy?
As usual, the league slapped them on the hand. New England lost a first round draft pick (they already had two). The money paid to the league as a penalty was meaningless.Ā
No one was banned from the sport. Not even a long suspension. BelichickĀ should be at home having nothing to do with the NFL.Ā
The Jets received nothing. How can the NFL know that the cheating had no impact on that game? Was the information gained to be used on the Jets the next time they played last season? It has to be at least one of those.Ā
Patriots fans are 100 percent behind their coach. They have placed winning above integrity.
And they wonder why the rest of the NFL fansĀ don't respect them anymore.
