Spoilers: Smackdown MITB Participants Announced

As most of you probably know, Smackdown is filmed on Tuesdays, along with NXT. The spoilers are out and six MITB participants have been announced for the PPV.

The six wrestlers announced are Big Show, Kane, Matt Hardy, Christian, Kofi Kingston, and Cody Rhodes. 

The Raw MITB match has eight participants. The PPV is a few weeks away so it is conceivable that WWE is holding out the other two slots for a little while. 

Drew McIntyre is currently out of the country due to an expired work visa. I think we can count on his participation in this match. 

CM Punk was shown with a sling during the taping. I do not think that this is legitimate, which makes him another possible candidate for the match. What else would he do? 

Five of the six wrestlers announced are faces, though Kane is kind of a tweener and Show's turn is still fairly recent. Adding Drew and Punk makes it five faces and three heels, much better than five and one. 

Smackdown has a smaller roster than Raw so it's still possible that they are just going with six. I find this hard to believe since there were ten wrestlers in the Wrestlemania MITB match. 

It's also possible that a member of the Nexus may get a shot. Since the Nexus has been basically Raw exclusive, I find this hard to believe as well. 

Newcomer Albert Del Rio (formerly Dos Caras) is skipping NXT and jumping right to Smackdown. I wouldn't bet on him being on a PPV so soon but it's possible. Eric Escobar was originally advertised for bragging rights but was pulled, indicating that WWE is not ready to put first timers on PPV just yet. 

Dolph Ziggler and Luke Gallows are the only other possible choices. Ziggler could get in via his ties with Vickie Guerrero and Gallows could take Punk's place should he not participate. Long shots but possible.
