I was just reminiscing. Remember when the Raider's offense was good? I was just thinking of the difference between the two offenses. I believe it was a version of the "West coast" offense headed by Rich Gannon in contrast to todays "Dinosaur" "Basic," or what have you, offense run by the Raiders.
I know that most Raider "Fans" don't typically pay attention to things like "formation" and the type of offense the Raiders run. I would imagine watching the game from their perspective is like; "He throw ball" "He run fast" "He catch good." "Raaaaduhs" While you eagerly wait for Russell to inevitably throw the ball in the ground looking for a receiver to get open 30 yards down field. My remote control's life-span is already in serious jeopardy at the snap...
What are you CALLIN?! There in a ZOOOONE!!! Not that again! Not a screen, we can't even block regular! Run it. Run it. RUN IT! Draw! Miller over the Middle All Day, Cable! etc. etc. etc. Where's Johnnie Lee???
Not to mention Russell's HORRIBLE footwork. What a perfect combination. I know Russell takes forever to get rid of the ball, Nation, but who is he gonna throw it to? Where are the crossing routes? What ever happened to "Trips" formation(My favorite) and more four receiver sets? Why can't JLH,Murphy,DHB and Ford(Schilens will be hurt) get on the field at the SAME time?
Why'd it take so long to get McFadden on some routes? Why can't "president" Bush get the rock 20 times a game? Why WHy WHY?
This why I contest that the Oakland Raider's best move this offseason will not be Rolando McClain, Lamarr Houston, not Campbell or re-signing Gradkowski, but the Hiring of Hue Jackson to take over play-calling, and hopefully personnel. Cable, your on notice.
