Favre to the Redskins? Scary
We all know about the messy affair with Brett Favre's recent decision to come back to the NFL, much to the Packers' and Aaron Rodger's dismay.
Yes, after retiring on April 11, 2008, following the season in which he took the final step in an illustrious Hall of Fame career, breaking numerous records and mesmerizing admirers all over the nation, the legendary Brett Favre was coming back.
Which was fine with me. I really couldn't care less.
Not long afterwards, things started getting ugly. The Packers were only willing to reinstate him on their team as a backup. Then came the letter, asking the Packers to formally release him (he is still under contract through 2011).
I was beginning to get worried.
News was coming in that both the Bears and the Redskins, both dangerous teams lacking a solid quarterback, were interested in him.
The Redskins?? They haven't had a solid QB in over a decade! True, they were set in most other areas, and could be a great team if they had a good quarterback, but...
Over the last few seasons, the NFC East had slowly been rising in the ranks as the Eagles were caught in the midst of the T.O. scandal. Next season, Dallas will be signing all the free agents, getting that dream team together.

The Giants had a good quarterback and a formidable defense. They were Super Bowl caliber, but nobody knew it then.
The Eagles and the Redskins both went no where and finished as the bottom two teams in the East in 2007. But the Redskins were bound by inspiration from the Sean Taylor killing, got their act together, and made the wild card.
It was a surprise, especially considering that they went 5-11 in 2006.
However, after finishing as a legitimate threat in 2007, they could capitalize on a 9-7 year and become the third team in the East which has steadily bypassed the Eagles over the years.
And they could do that with one simple move: Acquiring Brett Favre.
As an Eagles fan, that scares the stuffing out of me.
