Simmer Down: Trade Talks of Ben Roethlisberger Are Dead
Despite the Rooney family's disappointment with their quarterback's actions and his recent spat of bad PR, Ben Roethlisberger always wanted to stay in Pittsburgh. It seems for now as though he'll get his wish.
Although the team was open to the option of trading their franchise quarterback, it appears as though the Pittsburgh Steelers won't be dealing Big Ben.
Early morning reports surfaced that the Oakland Raiders were in talks with the Steelers about the price of acquiring Roethlisberger, but NFL.com 's Jason La Confora reported late this afternoon that the Steelers are no longer talking to the Raiders or any other teams about Roethlisberger , and they don't plan to pick up the trade talks again.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In fact, only two teams were ever considered an option to land Roethlisberger, those being the Raiders and the St. Louis Rams.
The Steelers called the Rams this weekend about acquiring the No. 1 overall pick to take Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford, but the Rams didn't want to put the hopes of their franchise on the shoulders of a man who they'd be without for almost half the season.
The Raiders were the only team that initiated talks about Roethlisberger. To me, it's surprising that no other teams were interested in him. Although he won't be available for some of the season, he's a quarterback with a lot left in the tank, who can keep a franchise on the map for the foreseeable future.
Although trade talks are dead, it's still an incredibly remote possibility that a trade could happen when teams go on the clock. With the rumor mill swirling at an alarming rate, with decisions and indecision followed by more decisions, I'll only believe that it's not a possibility at all when all the other teams pick and the Steelers are on the clock
Several polls around Pittsburgh had the quarterback falling quickly out of favor. With trade talks seemingly dead, it's time for Steeler Nation to put the grudge behind them, because Big Ben is sticking around.
