NFL Draft 2010: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Moving Up To Grab Ndamukong Suh?

Tom EdringtonApr 20, 2010

NFL draft countdown...three days to go.

Could the Tampa Bay Buccaneers be eyeballing the No. 1 pick in Thursday's NFL draft?

They might if they want to pick Nebraska tackling beast Ndamukong Suh.

Latest from the rumor pile is that the Detroit Lions have let it leak that they will be the ones to claim His Kongness with their pick, the second selection in Thursday night's festivities.

If the St. Louis Rams indeed plan on taking former Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford, they can still claim that fine young man with the third pick.

Possibly, quite possibly, they'd simply trade spots with the Buccaneers—no other considerations added, no extra picks, no future picks, no nothing. Here's the first pick and the financial obligations that go with it—have at it, Mark Dominik.

Last year's first pick, Matthew Stafford, nailed a six-year, $72 million deal from Detroit with $41.75 guaranteed and an $18.2 million signing bonus as part of that.

That's quite a load on any NFL pocketbook.

It could be the Rams will make that offer to the Buccaneers.

At that point, we'd find out just how much the Bucs think of Suh and how content they'd be to stay in the third spot and take Gerald McCoy, another Oklahoma standout.

Suh or McCoy?

McCoy or Suh?

Is Suh worth $20 million to $30 million more than McCoy?

There's something for the Glazers to chew on.
