David Huff's Complete Game A Much Needed Boost For Cleveland Indians
After a five-game losing streak, David Huff rescued the Cleveland Indians from the depths of early-season despair.
The beginning of the 2010 campaign hasn't been much different than the beginning of the 2009 campaign so far. The Indians have shown some good pitching from the starters, bad pitching from the bullpen and an inability to get clutch hits.
But that wasn't the case today as Huff lasted all nine innings and Shin-Soo Choo came through in the clutch with a three-run homer in the eighth inning.

Huff gave up two runs on four hits but lowered his ERA to 1.80.
But the meager crowd at Progressive Field got to see something very rare since 2007, a complete game victory.
This is rare enough in the major leagues these days, but for it to be done by the Indians, who clearly are in a rebuilding mode, is something special.
The Indians ownership, the Dolan family, sent a clear message to the fan base this past offseason that they weren't interested in spending money on the team. Add to that trading away two Cy Young Award winners in two years and it's not surprising barely 10,000 people attended Wednesday night's game.
The only chance the Indians have of catching the fans attention again is for them to play games like this one where there are few mistakes and the Indians hitters actually get some runs home rather than leaving the bases loaded and nothing to show for it.
The Indians now are 3-6, which isn't surprising, but the fact that one win came on the arm of one pitcher is.
It's a long season, but the Indians need to keep winning games like this one now so they aren't scrambling for wins later.
