There still is a big "?" as to who will be taking command of the Raiders in the upcoming season.  While there are not a lot of options left for the Silver and Black, there are some quality players that would be an upgrade at the position while providing depth.

We missed out on players like Derek Anderson (who was my favorite), Donavan McNabb, David Carr, and Jim Sorgi.  So what options are left................

Marc Bulger was just released by the Rams, he should be signed immediately.  He is a smart QB that has a good arm with good decision making skills.  He should not be too expensive either.  We just need to protect him, that's the big "if".

Sage Rosenfels is also a topic in trade rumors.  He is a solid QB with a good are but I dont feel he would be worth the money or the pick, unless we trade Gradkowski or Frye and a pick in next years draft for his services.

Troy Smith is another possibility that has been rumored.  Possible talks about Oakland trading their 5th round pick in this years draft for him.  Although this is not a horrible decision, I would rather see Oakland trade Gradkowski or Frye and a pick in next years draft.  Maybe Frye and a 6th round in next years draft or Gradkowski straight up.

This next guy might seem as a bit of a reach for some of you but I have a good feeling about his ability.  Tyler Thigpen!!  He has a good arm, is mobile in the pocket (Bulger is not), young (only 25 years old), and has good decision making skills.  His last year in Kansas City (2008) he put up some stellar numbers.  In 14 games he threw for 2600+ yards, 18 TDs, 12 INTs, with a passer rating of 76.0% and a 56.0% completion.  That's not bad for a guy who only played one game in his rookie season of (2007), and played for the garbage Kansas City Cheifs.  He loves to use the TE (Tony Gonzalez had about 1000 yards and 10TDs during that season) and we got a guy named Zack Miller who is just waiting to become an elite TE in the league and has all the potential and ability to be one.  I suggest Oakland look to trade Gradkowski or Frye for him.  He would also be a better option than Troy Smith and even Rosenfel.

I'm just trying to find a solution, I want Oakland to be a winner again so bad.  And I really want to come out to Oakland one day to see a game live, (I live in New Jersey) but I'm not coming out to see what I have seen in recent years.  I'd probably jump off the top of the stadium in disgust
