Donovan McNabb Traded to Washington Redskins | NFL Fantasy Impact

As free agency drew closer to the NFL draft, the odds seemed to increase that the Eagles would part ways with quarterback Donovan McNabb . Now, on Easter, trading McNabb has become a reality as the team received a second round pick in this years' draft and a fourth round selection in next years draft.

Seeing McNabb leave isn't a shocker but the team he went to is as McNabb is now playing for the Washington Redskins . Just a few years ago the Packers refused to give Brett Favre to the Vikings in a trade because they didn't want him playing for a division foe.

Philadelphia seems unfazed with having McNabb playing for Mike Shanahan in Washington and facing him for at least two games this up coming season.

One would have to believe the odds of McNabb signing a deal with the Redskins past this season are good as he will remain in the West Coast offense and has great coaching talent around him.

Fantasy Impact

Kevin Kolb will need to play well in order to keep DeSean Jackson and Brent Celek as top options at their positions for fantasy football. Since we won't know for sure if Kolb will be a success until the season begins both players should drop just a little in fantasy value.

For Redskin pass catchers this makes  Santana Moss , Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas very interesting targets for 2010. These receivers will probably all be selected by fantasy football owners at some point in each draft because of the quarterback that is with this group.

It looks like the team is going to keep tight end Chris Cooley on the team at this point so he and Fred Davis will help McNabb's fantasy value as well. Expect Jason Campbell to either ride the pine or get traded this offseason as the team may look to add value in another area.

One player may not make a team but they sure can make players on that organization better. Watch out for the Redskins offense in 2010.
