Frank Mir Wants to Break Brock Lesnar's Neck, Dana Calls Mir an “Idiot”

Tim NgoFeb 23, 2010

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir recently spoke to Mark Madden of WXDX in Pittsburgh and went on record saying, “I want to fight Lesnar. I hate who he is as a person. I want to break his neck in the ring. I want him to be the first person that dies due to Octagon-related injuries. That’s what’s going through my mind.”

Ironically enough, only moments earlier, Mir said that part of the reason he hates Lesnar so much is because kids look up to MMA fighters as role models.

Obviously you can take Mir’s comments any which way and spin it around a million times to grab a headline.

Charmichael Dave texted Dana White about Mir’s comments to which White had this to say in response:

“Frank Mir is a fu**ing idiot! I have never heard something so unprofessional and idiotic in my life.”

I’m sure White doesn’t appreciate any actions or comments that could put the sport back into the “cockfighting-era” but if Mir can get past Shane Carwin at UFC 111 , he’ll have one hell of an event to sell.

When attempting to get in touch with the Mir camp, Charmichael Dave got to speak to Mir’s wife and was told Mir would be making a statement from UFC headquarters.

“Frank will be making a statement this afternoon from the UFC headquarters. Frank is disturbed by the reaction to his comments regarding Brock Lesnar. Frank is a warrior and an ambassador for this sport. After his statement, he will not be speaking about Brock again, and will choose to instead focus on his next opponent, Shane Carwin.”

One thing you can never say about Mir is that he’s boring, he’ll always give the media quotes and soundbytes but has he gone too far this time?
