Dear T.O., You'll Never Be Jerry Rice

So, T.O. thinks he could have been better then Hall of Famer Jerry Rice; what else is new.

T.O. always thinks he is better then the next guy and that’s his problem. Last week a publication name Owens the best receiver in the NFL I believe in the past decade, a great honor for sure; that means he was better then Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison, Steve Smith and others.

Most people would be humbled and honored by this, not T.O. He used this platform to basically throw the quarterbacks he played for in the past and present under the bus.

Not surprising knowing who we are talking about here. He spent most of the season with his mouth close, but I think just like Popeye the Sailorman, he couldn’t stand it any more. He felt the need to say if he played with Peyton, Tom or Brett, he have better numbers then Jerry Rice.

T.O. let me explain something to you, the reason why you didn’t play with Peyton, Tom or Brett is because they wouldn’t put up with your bull crap. Do you honestly think Peyton Manning, probably the greatest quarterback in our generation would let you even sniff near the Colts?

Manning is not and will not allow himself to be associated with someone who isn’t a team player, which you aren’t. The crap you pulled in Dallas, San Fran, and Philly, doesn’t fly in Indy. Manning has enough power to basically get you traded or at best he just won’t throw to you. That’s the reality of the situation.

Oh and as far as Tom Brady goes, Randy Moss found out if he wanted to be a champion, he had to straighten up his act. Do you honestly think that the Patriots would have allowed Moss to come near them if they weren’t sure he was ready to change?

You see T.O., here is the thing, you aren’t bigger then the team. A fact, use it as you wish. The Cowboys, who hadn’t won a playoff game in 13 years, were BETTER without you. The Eagles, yeah they’ve been better without you too. Miracle of all miracles, losing the great Terrell Owens didn’t mean a damn thing.

You’ll never be Jerry Rice mainly because he is something you aren’t; a winner. Rice not only has the records, he has the rings as well. He didn’t put his teammates down or made himself bigger then the teams he played for, he just went to work and did it better then anyone else.

To say you’d be better if you had better teammates is a joke; if anything Steve Young, Tony Romo, Jeff Garcia, and Donovan McNabb made you better despite yourself.
