On Sunday February 7^th the Colts and the Saints will match up in one of the most anticipated Superbowls of all time as the Peyton Manning led Indianapolis Colts face off against the lovable New Orleans Saints.

Both teams bring great signal callers and an explosive offense to the field, so who will end up victorious when the game is over? I have already made my play on the total and decided whether or not this game will go over or under the total. Many experts have gone over the game and broken down the matchups as they try to figure out who will win on Superbowl Sunday. Now it’s my turn to pick a winner.

There is no question that both of these teams have stellar offenses with two extremely talented quarterbacks.  Arguing over the better one is a waste of time since both Peyton Manning and Drew Brees are more than capable of winning this game. Both offenses have a slew of weapons on the offense and game breakers that can make a big difference in the game, but what about the defenses?

This week the Saints came out and said that they will aggressively seek out and try to hit Peyton Manning. This is the first type of bulletin board material to leak out and the media jumped all over it. They claimed that they want to deliver a few “remember-me” shots. The Colts responded as they always have in the past, like professionals. They refused to comment and instead said they would play just like they always have. Something tells me they will keep those comments in mind on Superbowl Sunday.

The great thing about the big game is when looking to pick a team to cover the spread it is just best to go after the out right winner. Only eight times in 39 years has an outright winner failed to cover the number. The superbowl also offers us a few other bits of history. The Colts have the experience in the big game and seems focused on both sides of the ball. They have the MVP in Peyton Manning and he can defeat any defense and adjust to any scheme. He has a myriad of weapons and should be able to tear apart a Saints defense that ranked low in statistics this season. The Colts defense deserves some credit as they have shut down teams and turned it up another notch in the playoffs shutting down the run and the pass of every team they encountered. The Saints have had trouble when Brees is pressured and the inexperience will be a factor early. The Colts will be able to control the clock and be world champions!
