2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap šø
ROUND 1
| 1 | St. Louis Rams | DT | Ndamukong Suh | Nebraska |
| Ā | Suh is by far the best player in this year's draft. Although St. Louis would like a franchise quarterback, none are worth the first pick, or the price tag. | |||
| 2 | Detroit Lions | DT | Gerald McCoyĀ # | Oklahoma |
| Ā | The Lions had issues in creating a pass rush. McCoy will provide pressure up the middle, helping free up Jason Hunter and Sammie Hill at the defensive ends. | |||
| 3 | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | S | Eric BerryĀ # | Tennessee |
| Ā | Eric Berry is a nice consolation prize for the Bucs after watching both DTs go off the board. The Bucs defense needs difference makers, and both safeties will probably be replaced. Berry can step in and improve Tampa's secondary. | |||
| 4 | Washington Redskins | OT | Russell Okung | Oklahoma St. |
| Ā | The Redskins need help on the O-line and in the secondary and will look hard at Joe Haden. But Okung still being available is hard for Mike Shanahan to pass up. | |||
| 5 | Kansas City Chiefs | WR | Dez BryantĀ # | Oklahoma St. |
| Ā | The Chiefs were desperate for a second receiver and jumped at the chance to add Chris Chambers last year. Although Chambers proved serviceable, a playmaker like Bryant can help open up the offense. | |||
| 6 | Seattle Seahawks | CB | Joe HadenĀ # | Florida |
| Ā | The Seahawks need help in the secondary to slow down opposing offenses and create turnovers. This unit only had 13 interceptions. Haden is the top CB and is aggressive looking to make plays. | |||
| 7 | Cleveland Browns | ILB | Rolando McClainĀ # | Alabama |
| Ā | The Browns were devastated with injuries on defense and sorely lacked an on the field leader. McClain can become the leader of this defense next year and for years to come. | |||
| 8 | Oakland Raiders | DT | Brian PriceĀ # | UCLA |
| Ā | Price is an incredible athlete, which is something Al Davis always looks for. The Raiders' DTs were average at best, andĀ Price can provide them some options withĀ his ability to move to DE on plays. | |||
| 9 | Buffalo Bills | OT | Anthony DavisĀ # | Rutgers |
| Ā | The Bills gave up 46 sacks (fourth worst in the NFL). The big problem was at LT, and Buffalo has a great opportunity to improve with Anthony Davis. | |||
| 10 | Jacksonville Jaguars | DE | Derrick MorganĀ # | Georgia Tech |
| Ā | Jacksonville produced only 14 sacks last year. A solid pass rusher who can get after the QB will help this defense return to its stronger days. | |||
| 11 | Denver Broncos | OLB | Sergio Kindle | Texas |
| Ā | Denver still needs to create more of a pass rush. Sergio Kindle can bring it, plus he can also drop back in coverage. | |||
| 12 | Miami Dolphins | ILB | Brandon Spikes | Florida |
| Ā | The Dolphins need an elite wide receiver, a solid right tackle and a solid tackler at inside linebacker next to Channing Crowder. None of the receivers have the elite look, and any right tackle would be a reach. But Florida's Spikes allows them to get a quality pick while addressing a need. | |||
| 13 | San Francisco 49ers | OT | Bruce CampbellĀ # | Maryland |
| Ā | The 49ers need to keep pass rushers off Alex Smith. Campbell's long arms and skills will help Smith, and he has additional talent to help him develop. | |||
| 14 | Seattle Seahawks | QB | Jimmy ClausenĀ # | Notre Dame |
| Ā | Pete Carroll may be backing Matt Hasselbeck right now, but even he knows that a QB for the future needs to be found. Clausen can spend a year learning or step in if Hasselbeck struggles or suffers another injury. | |||
| 15 | New York Giants | S | Earl ThomasĀ # | Texas |
| Ā | The Giants were desperate for secondary help after Kenny Phillips was lost to injury. The right addition can keep this DB unit at an elite level even after an injury. | |||
| 16 | Tennessee Titans | DT | Dan Williams | Tennessee |
| Ā | The Titans showed they missed Albert Haynesworth's presence in the middle. Williams is no Haynesworth, but he is a strong DT that can force double teams and collapse the pocket. | |||
| 17 | San Francisco 49ers | DE | Jerry Hughes | TCU |
| Ā | An excellent outside rusher, Jerry Hughes can play the 3-4 OLB for the 49ers defense. | |||
| 18 | Pittsburgh Steelers | OT | Bryan BulagaĀ # | Iowa |
| Ā | The Steelers no longer dominate the trenches, forcing them to become more of a throw first team. Bulaga will bring back some of the physicality and toughness to the line. | |||
| 19 | Atlanta Falcons | DE | Carlos DunlapĀ # | Florida |
| Ā | Atlanta's only glaring weakness on defense was the lack of a consistent pass rush. Having to face Drew Brees twice a year, the Falcons need to find a way to generate a better rush. | |||
| 20 | Houston Texans | RB | C.J. Spiller | Clemson |
| Ā | Houston is still searching for their No. 1 back. Steve Slaton had the role but lost it last season, and no one else has truly assumed it. | |||
| 21 | Cincinnati Bengals | WR | Golden TateĀ # | Notre Dame |
| Ā | The Bengals need another receiver to step up. Chad Ochocinco may talk a big game, but he can't do it alone. Neither Laveranues Coles nor Andre Caldwell proved to be a reliable No. 2. | |||
| 22 | New England Patriots | DE | Jason Pierre-PaulĀ # | South Fla. |
| Ā | The Patriots have reached the strange position of rebuilding a playoff team. Yes, they lead the AFC East, but they were torn apart by the Ravens. Pierre-Paul begins the process, providing support at what was once the strongest part of the defense. | |||
| 23 | Green Bay Packers | CB | Trevard Lindley | Kentucky |
| Ā | The Packers secondary took a hit when Al Harris went down. Harris and Charles Woodson still bring it but are both in their mid-30s. The future has to be addressed. | |||
| 24 | Philadelphia Eagles | OLB | Navorro BowmanĀ # | Penn St. |
| Ā | The Eagles lack a true Sam linebacker. Will Witherspoon is more of a weakside player, and neither Chris Gocong nor Moise Fokou truly showed the ability to be a three-down Sam linebacker. | |||
| 25 | Baltimore Ravens | RB | Jonathan DwyerĀ # | Georgia Tech |
| Ā | The Ravens may not keep Willis McGahee this year and will need someone else to get the tough yards for first downs and touchdowns. Dwyer is a power back who will be a great complement to Ray Rice. | |||
| 26 | Arizona Cardinals | OLB | Eric Norwood | South Carolina |
| Ā | Norwood can step in as a pass rusher for the Cardinals, a point of weakness last season. | |||
| 27 | Dallas Cowboys | OT | Trent Williams | Oklahoma |
| Ā | Both Flozell Adams and Marc Colombo had struggles and are questionable to return. Williams, who can play either left or right tackle, will give the Cowboys more options along the front line. | |||
| 28 | San Diego Chargers | RB | Ryan MathewsĀ # | Fresno St. |
| Ā | Mathews is an excellent runner and can replace the aging LaDainian Tomlinson. With Darren Sproles as the speed/third down back, Mathews will be given the opportunity to highlight his strengths while hiding his weaknesses. | |||
| 29 | New York Jets | DT | Terrence CodyĀ # | Alabama |
| Ā | Cody's size makes him an excellent NT prospect to play in the Jets' 3-4. | |||
| 30 | Minnesota Vikings | QB | Sam BradfordĀ # | Oklahoma |
| Ā | Every indication is that Favre will retire...again. Whether he does or not, the future QB situation for the Vikings is questionable. Tarvaris Jackson showed some improvement but still doesn't have the look of a signal caller, and Bradford having time to develop before stepping in would be nice. | |||
| 31 | New Orleans Saints | OT | Charles Brown | Southern California |
| Ā | Brown is an excellent developmental lineman that can learn to help protect Brees, a must for the Saints to become a perennial power. | |||
| 32 | Indianapolis Colts | OLB | Sean Weatherspoon | Missouri |
| Ā | The Colts' front seven hasn't been exactly spectacular, but it was solid enough for a Super Bowl run. Weatherspoon could add some playmaking ability and create some havoc with his blitzes. | |||
ROUND 2 | ||||
| 1 | St. Louis Rams | QB | Dan LeFevour | Central Mich. |
| 2 | Detroit Lions | WR | Brandon LaFell | LSU |
| 3 | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | DT | Jared Odrick | Penn St. |
| 4 | Kansas City Chiefs | S | Morgan BurnettĀ # | Georgia Tech |
| 5 | Washington Redskins | DE | Corey Wootton | Northwestern |
| 6 | Cleveland Browns | WR | Arrelious BennĀ # | Illinois |
| 7 | Oakland Raiders | CB | Myron Lewis | Vanderbilt |
| 8 | Seattle Seahawks | G | Mike Iupati | Idaho |
| 9 | Buffalo Bills | WR | Mardy Gilyard | Cincinnati |
| 10 | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | DE | Greg Hardy | Mississippi |
| 11 | Miami Dolphins | WR | Damian WilliamsĀ # | Southern California |
| 12 | New England Patriots | DE | Ricky Sapp | Clemson |
| 13 | Denver Broncos | WR | Demaryius ThomasĀ # | Georgia Tech |
| 14 | New York Giants | DE | Everson GriffenĀ # | Southern California |
| 15 | New England Patriots | TE | Jermaine Gresham | Oklahoma |
| 16 | Carolina Panthers | TE | Aaron HernandezĀ # | Florida |
| 17 | San Francisco 49ers | S | Taylor Mays | Southern California |
| 18 | Kansas City Chiefs | TE | Rob GronkowskiĀ # | Arizona |
| 19 | Houston Texans | S | Chad JonesĀ # | LSU |
| 20 | Pittsburgh Steelers | CB | Kyle Wilson | Boise St. |
| 21 | New England Patriots | RB | Jahvid BestĀ # | California |
| 22 | Cincinnati Bengals | G | Vladimir Ducasse | Massachusetts |
| 23 | Philadelphia Eagles | DE | Brandon Graham | Michigan |
| 24 | Green Bay Packers | RB | Joe McKnightĀ # | Southern California |
| 25 | Baltimore Ravens | WR | Dezmon BriscoeĀ # | Kansas |
| 26 | Arizona Cardinals | CB | Patrick Robinson | Florida St. |
| 27 | Dallas Cowboys | WR | Eric Decker | Minnesota |
| 28 | San Diego Chargers | CB | Perrish Cox | Oklahoma St. |
| 29 | New York Jets | DE | Willie Young | North Carolina St. |
| 30 | Minnesota Vikings | CB | Donovan WarrenĀ # | Michigan |
| 31 | New Orleans Saints | DE | George Selvie | South Fla. |
| 32 | Indianapolis Colts | DT | Arthur Jones | Syracuse |
