The Yearly Quarterback Question, and No, It's Not About Brett Farve Retiring
Recently the hottest yearly quarterback question in the NFL has been pushed to the back burner while ESPN and everyone else tried to figure out what Brett Farve was going to do at season's end.
Before Brett even thought about retiring the first time, the question on every talking head's mind was, "Will the Eagles trade Donovan McNabb?"
I've never seen a quarterback do so much for a team and get so little respect, but with back-to-back poor performances against the Dallas Cowboys, the hotly-debated quarterback's future in Philly is in question, again.

Last I checked, two of those teams still have veteran, MVP, and Super Bowl winners at that position (though there are questions on whether they'll retire). The other—Cleveland—isn't close to winning anything, so why take on the big contract of an aging quarterback?
Also, it doesn't make sense for Philly to get rid of McNabb. I thought Kolb could have a bright future, but hasn't shown that he can get the Eagles over the hump, and I don't believe Michael Vick is a pure enough quarterback to take the starting role.
Face it, Philly, Donovan is your best answer right now.
Heck, as a Redskins' fan, I hope the rumors are true. I'd much rather see our defense face Kolb or Vick than McNabb any day, and I feel I speak for the NFC East as a whole.
Also, if they released him, I could see Dan Snyder making a big splash and signing him to help (if Mel Kiper, Jr. is correct) Sam Bradford along.
McNabb is in the twilight of his career. He's not the same guy who once could dodge six guys in the pocket and then heave the ball down field, but he's still better than 90 percent of the quarterbacks out there.
