Pete Carroll and Seattle Seahawks: The NFL Version of the USC Trojans?
Pete Carroll has spent the last nine years in charge of one of the most dominate college football programs in the USC Trojans and now he may be looking to build the NFL version of his college team with the Seattle Seahawks.
While Carroll was at USC, he developed many young and talented athletes that are now currently in the NFL, and there is a good chance that he may pursue quite a few of those players now that he is in charge in Seattle.
The first player that comes to mind is running back Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
There has been a ton of noise on-line that the Saints do not know if they want to pay Bush his $8 million salary in 2010 since they have many other players that they need to resign to a new contract.
Whether or not the Saints retain Bush will be a factor for Carroll since the Seahawks need an upgrade at running back and Bush would bring his skill set to help make the offense more explosive than it has been in recent years.
Another decision Carroll needs to make is with Matt Hasselbeck and the quarterback position.
Hasselbeck is not getting any younger and he has struggled. But Carroll has two first round picks in the 2010 NFL Draft to play with.
Could Sam Bradford be a target?
Maybe, but Carroll may also want to explore the possibility of grabbing his former quarterback Matt Leinart, since the Cardinals continue to keep him on the bench and he wants his chance to start like any other quarterback in the NFL.
After struggling in his first few years, Leinart has been able to learn from future Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner the past few seasons, and in limited playing time, Leinart has shown vast improvement in his play.
Is Carroll interested in getting Leinart?
There is no reason to doubt this theory, and if there was a chance for Carroll to not only get Bush, but Leinart too, then don't be surprised if both players are together once again in Seahawks uniforms for the 2010 season.
Getting back to the Seahawks' two first round picks, there is also a chance that Carroll may stick with who he knows and draft Trojans defensive end Everson Griffen with the first round pick and Trojans safety Taylor Mays with the second first round pick.
Leinart, Bush, and possible draft picks may only be the beginning, and granted this is all speculation right now, but Seahawks fans cannot deny that fact that their team could be a reincarnation of the USC Trojans in the very near future.
