Broncos Mock Draft V 1.0 With Sleepers
It is time for another mock draft. This mock draft is going to analyze the picks that we currently have without assuming trades. For every pick, I am going to also put a sleeper pick. A sleeper pick is a pick that McDaniels could select to suprise us all. Similar to drafting Knowshown Moreno last year.
Round 1 Pick # 10
Dez Bryant. WR from Oklahoma State.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap šø
Even if Brandon Marshall stays with the Broncos, another big target for Orton would be highly beneficial. If the Broncos were to draft Bryant, they could have Marshall and Bryant play the outsides while Royal sits in the slot. This would give us another big play threat that we need.
Sleeper Pick. Anthony Davis. OT from Rutgers.
If Davis were to drop this far, McDaniels would be wise to snag him. Our offensive line struggled at the end of the year. I think Taylor Mays goes to Oakland, Derrick Morgan to Buffalo which drops Davis to us. He has been predicted to be a "Ryan Clady kind of player". This would be a nice pick up for us.
Round 2.
Corey Wooton. DE from Northwestern.
Wooton would be a BIG pick up for us. By big I mean that he is 6 ft 7 and nearly 300 pounds. He is pretty quick for his size. He is a dominating force on the line. He has the size to play a 3-4 defensive end. He doesn't have elite pass rushing speed. However, he could be a great tandem with Elvis "Doom".Ā
Sleeper Pick. Chad Jones. S from LSU.
At 6 ft 3 and 230 pounds, Jones is a force to be reckoned with. He can run a sub 4.5 40 and is one of the hardest hitters from the LSU team. However, He does not have a lot of experience. He started six games as a sophomore and a whole junior season. He has a ton of potential for the future. If he has stayed for his senior season, he would be a sure 1st rounder in 2011. If drafted, he could learn under one of the best, Brian Dawkins.
Round 3.
Tyson Alualu. DT/DE from California.
Tyson is somebody that I have not included before. He recently became known to me and I can see McDaniels picking him after some solid workouts. He isn't the biggest guy at 6 ft 3 and 290 lbs. However, he has a great work ethic and does not give up on the play. He has good speed and a good pass rush. He was given the team's Brick Muller Award as the defensive line MVP the past three years. He also earned Joe Roth Award for best exemplifying courage, attitude and sportsmanship, as well as the Senior Lifter of the Year. Sounds like the kind of attitude and player that McDaniels is looking for.
Sleeper Pick. Perrish Cox. CB from Oklahoma St.
Perrish has the ability to be a shut down corner in the NFL. He stands at 6 ft and runs around a 4.4 40. He is also a very talented return man. He is a very versitile player. He should be drafted way before this pick. However, he was suspended for the final game of his senior season which will bring up character issues. This is why I have him projected this low. He would be a steal here.
Round 4.
J.D. Walton. C from Baylor.
J.D. Walton is a hardworking, big offensive lineman from Baylor. In 07, he shared best offensive lineman award with future first rounder, Jason Smith. He has plenty of experience. He has the ideal 6 ft 3, 300 lb size that McDaniels will like in his transition to a power-blocking scheme. He will be a solid player in the NFL. He would be a nice replacement for Casey Weigmann.
Sleeper Pick. Danario Alexander. WR from Missouri.
I have picked this guy in all of my mock drafts for a reason. This guy has crazy skills. He is 6 ft 5 with good hands. He finished up 09 with 113 catches for 1,781 yards and 14 touchdowns. He is not the best route runner, but he is a superb talent that would be an absolute steal at this pick.
Round 6.
Zoltan Mesko. P from Michigan.
The 4 year punter from Michigan is the best punter in this draft. He can boot the ball down field and has improved his accuracy i great deal. He would be an instant upgrade to Mitch Berger. This pick seems like a no brainer to me. We need a punter so why not spend our 6th rounder on the best one in the draft. That is assuming he is still here.
Sleeper Pick. Nate Byham. TE from Pittsburgh.
Nate waisted no time contributing to Pittsburgh's offense. He has been contributing since his Freshman year. At 6 ft 3 260 lbs, he is a good blocker with a good work ethic. He is a hard worker and can be a dangerous receiver weapon. He could be a good replacement to Scheffler if he were to leave.
Round 7.
Linval Joseph. DT from East Carolina.
At 6 ft 6 and 300 lbs, Joseph is a big player that McDaniels might want to try out on his line. He is an experienced player that should warrant some consideration in this late round selection.
Sleeper Pick. LaGerrette Blunt. RB from Oregon.
This is only assuming that Blunt is here at this spot. He has MAJOR character issues. He is a great talent. If he can show McDaniels that he has changed, then he is definitely worth this position.
There you have it. Another Mock Draft has been completed. Let me know what you think. As of right now I have the Broncos selecting
WR Dez Bryant
DE Corey Wooton
DT/DE Tyson Alualu.
C J.D. Walton.
Zoltan Mesko. P
Linval Joseph. DT
