Redskins OLine coach Chris Foerster profile

The Washington Redskins have hired a new offensive line coach.  Chris Foerster will leave the SF 49ers to join the Redskins staff to take the place of tthe retiring legend Joe Bugel.

NFL Experience . . . Foerster has a combined 26 years of coaching experience.  Prior to joining the Redskins, Foerster served as Offensive Line coach for the San Francisco 49ers from 2008 through 2009.  Before joining the 49ers staff he served as an offensive line and assistant head coach for the Baltimore Ravens from 2005 through 2007.  Foerster also served as the offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins in 2004, tight ends coach for the Indianapolis Colts in 2002 and 2003, offensive line coach for the Tampa Buccaneers from 1996 through 2001 and assistant offensive line/tight ends coach for the Minnesota Vikings from 1993 to 1995.

Collegiate experience . . . Foerster served as the offensive line coach for the University of Minnesota in 1992, assistant offensive line/special teams coach for Stanford from 1988 to 91, and offensive line coach for Colorado State from 983 through 1987. He began his coaching career in 1982 as a graduate assistant at Colorado State.

Foerster also played on an offensive line as the Colorado State Rams center from 1979 through 1982.

Foerster has been highly regarded for the job he did with the 49ers line.  He has a tough task in Washington, as Mike Shanahan plans to make the offensive line his top priority and rebuild from top to bottom
