There's Plenty of Gas Left in Brett Favre's Tank; Just Ask Dallas
Brett Favre has done it again.
The Minnesota Vikings dismantled a confused Dallas Cowboys squad, 34-3 Sunday afternoonĀ at Mall of America Field. Ā
Applying immense pressure and not allowing Tony Romo, the self-proclaimed Favre protege, to get any significant looks downfieldāthe VikingsĀ defense did their job.Ā

Brett Favre simply punched in and did his job.Ā How would the Dallas receivers stack up against the Viking secondary? That's a question that wouldn't produce an answer on Sunday.
Favre has reached his fifth NFC Championship gameāhe'll face the New Orleans Saints next week for a date in the Super Bowl against either the New York Jets, San Diego Chargers, or the Indianapolis Colts.
Favre only received one vote from AP writers in the MVP raceāPeyton Manning garnished 39.5 out of a possible 50.
MVP honors or not, Favre continues to show that his 2009-10 campaign was no fluke.
The silver fox himself has had a career year. His 33-to-7 touchdown-to-pick ratio was the best he's ever had in the regular season. A 107.2 quarterback ratingāhis best ever, 4,202 yards passingāthird highest in his storied tenure in the NFL.
Favre methodically and surgically dissected the Cowboys' secondary on nearly every drive, putting the Cowboys' defense on the operating table and going to work.Ā
Four touchdowns, no interceptions, and 234 yards later, he led his Vikings to victory once again.
We all know he's 40, past his prime, and doesn't have anything left in the tank, right?
Tell Favre that.
Enduring heavy-handed scrutiny from the media (and Packers' fans) from the onset of the season, the "diva" has blue-collared his way to another conference championship game.
Romo against Favre, it was a fan's dream pairing. The grizzled veteran competing head-to-head with the young man that so desperately would love to dethrone his idol.
Better luck next year, Romo, it wasn't meant to be.
Minnesota's offensive line gave Favre plenty of time to read coverageāhe completed 15 of 24 attempts, averaging nearly a first down with every toss (9.8 yards). It would seem that the old man turned back the clock and channeled the 1994-98 version of himself.
Sidney Rice has emerged as a star almost overnight, with the help of old No. 4, of course. Rice snatchedĀ six receptions from the "media diva" himself, and took them three of themĀ to the house.
Opinions are like...well, you know where I'm going with this one...everyone has one.
Keep your "too old," "no gas left in the tank," and "inconsistent" thoughts to yourself and admit that you were wrong about him.Ā
Favre continues to prove his critics wrong with his play reminiscent of his glory years, that prior to this season, were said to have passed him by.
Back against the wall, millions of fans either for or against him, Favre did what legends do: win big games. Ā
