Cancer and Sports: Watching The Cowboys & Playoff Games In Texas

Jeff is tired and losing weight and there are very few things that are making him happy.  Certainly not food, news or atmosphere.  But...it is playoff time and guess who is feeling much better.  His attitude, demeanor and expressions are just so fantastic while he is watching the games.  I thought this saga was wrapping up but far from it.

Yesterday, our good friend and Cowboys fan took us for great BBQ and some sports talk and then to a weird sports bar call Texadelphia to watch some NCAA B'Ball, get a beer into Jeff (he is off pain meds) and talk a little football.  Finally back to the hotel to watch...football. Drew Brees - now known as The Big BrEasy - as good friend and former Eagle #77 , Scott Lefko(a sad Ravens fan) called to tell us and cry with Jeff over the Ravens getting beaten up.  I love Flacco but I predicted a NO trip to the Super Bowl at the beginning of the season and would love to see Colts right there with them.  Could be San Diego too, who knows???  Just want my Saints in the game.  I also LOVE Peyton Manning!

Dallas is currently moving the ball...guess I do owe Texas something so...whatever, I will not call them the Cowgirls today (Texan fans do though LOL).  I wold love to see the Vikings win this one .  I just hope Farve goes out (finally) in a blaze of glory.  There was just a fumble... positive sign - Jeff is yelling, another positive sign!  Farve was hit - OH NO!  Can AP pull this out and avoid the Dallas Defense. 

Jeff is laughing at the paint ball commercial - his favorite -  have not seen a smile in so long.  Yesterday was the first but today he is really in a football groove.  He is now planning the JJ Elephant Superbowl Grid Pool with 20% of the proceeds going to Haitian Relief (we are working with Little Angels  check out their on line auction this week and bid up of the Dutch Dalton signed litho).

So I am watching the Cowgirls, err, Cowboys, in Texas and that is surreal.  Jeff is animated and that is great.  The Texan fans wanted to talk Eagles which was also weird and damn...it is all about the sports as much as the doctors who are getting Jeff on his feet!  TD for Rice - whoa and Jeff is yelling and it is 7 - zip Vikings!

Last minute addition - What a game - almost giddy - too bad jeff not feeling well but boy is he cheering the Vikings!  Romo throws an interception...do we need a 4th quarter?  17 - 3 Vikings, as they say in Texas...Whee Haw!!

More from Houston and football later.  Just an aside...Longhorns to final four in the Big Dance and maybe the final 2 - ya' never know!

Rest in Peace Gaines Adams who died today at age 26 of a heart attack.  Adams was defensive end for the Chicago Bears.
