Is Al Going Fishing? The Tom Cable Mystery Tour Continues!
I'm pretty sure this isn't what Tom Cable imagined when he signed on to coach the Oakland Raiders.
The present looks from Oakland has Cable sticking around for yet another weekend waiting for Al Davis and his fishing party to make up their collective minds.
But to that aspect, it looks like Cable has become both an option and a fishing lure that Al Davis is using for the purpose of controlling the team.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
At the present, several different lines of thought can be seen, which include:
Tom Cable remaining as coach and finding him a couple additional assistants to help him, including an offensive coordinator.
Cable being delegated back to the offensive line, and Al asking the interested party, "Can you work with Tom to help JaMarcus Russell?"
And of course, the last question, "If I fire Tom Cable, can you help JaMarcus Russell?"
Cable, I can imagine it wasn't in his contract, has to feel like he's being used by the Al Davis group to help the team, even if the final solution does not include his abilities, it has to be frustrating. Some can imagine that part of this line of action, or inaction, comes from recent developments.
Seattle, which landed several old coaches the Raiders had lost last year, fired Jim Mora Jr. Could the Raiders, should the Seahawks start fresh and bring a whole new staff for the incoming Pete Carroll, reel back in the coaches that helped the team finish strong in 2008?
Wouldn't it be a kick, if Jim Mora Jr. became the coach and brought the entire Atlanta Falcons coaching package with him? Tom Cable would be back in his original spot, under Mora...might be a good fit.
Might be a plan designed for disaster too.
And Al throws out Tom again, looking for a nibble.
